Traditional Irish Breakfast in L.A.?

Alas LA lacks a good irish breakfast like we can get in the homeland (or eastcoast). The only Irish breakfast I've had is in O'Brien's on 23rd & Wilshire or else you can but the goodies in the import shop or online at http://www.galteebreakfast.com/ and make your own.

Ideas to give a non-cooking person: Help!

Thank you to all for your suggestions, recommendations.

Wok cooking : hotter equals better?

The btu on a home burner is way less than that of a professional stove. You know when your oil is hot enough to start cooking when you see your first wisp of smoke. I use peanut oil when I use the wok and it has a higher smoke point. Also keep moving your ingredients around the wok as you will get hot-spots.

Tipping a Private Chef

If you were in a restaurant a 15- 18% tip is typically automatically added to groups of 8 or more. Remember you are paying for the privilege of having someone come into your home to plan, shop and prepare the meal for you. If the sticker-shock is too much you might want to consider ordering take-out!

Ideas to give a non-cooking person: Help!

I have a 3-4 hour window to teach a non-cooking person some basic meals. Anyone got any suggestions to what I should include?
