NYC's Best Hamantashen?

We've got a few diehard fans in our office looking to start a competition...where should we get the best to taste and try?

Best downtown Spanish restaurant?

Of the downtown Spanish restaurants--Don Quixote, La National, El Faro, La Paella, Sevilla, etc. etc., which is the best? I'm looking for a fun (i.e., not stuck up, staid, good for groups, not crazy-expensive) place for next Friday night to celebrate a birthday. Thoughts?

FOAF is a great comfy-cozy place but sometimes hard to nab a large table...but will keep it in mind, thankx!

Area not specified since people are coming from different parts of Manhattan then going home to diff parts of Manhattan - so location ideally should be near major subways. In the best of all possible worlds, midtown would be nice but that shuts out too many better quality venues.

Oh, and long lingering without being bothered by nervous waiters also required...

Dining/Meeting place needed for writers group

Any suggestions on a restaurant/bar/cafe/coffee shop that can serve as a regular meeting place for a writing group? The place needs to:
-Accommodate a 6-8 person size group easily
-Serve alcohol and coffee, and light fare if not full menu
-Not be ridiculously expensive
-Be fairly quiet, not loud music-y or scene-y, to allow for discussion
-Be flexible if some people just want one drink while others want a nibble or a meal.
-Be close to subway/transportation for easy access.
I know it's a tall order, but there's probably the perfect coffee bar that serves light snacks and drinks somewhere out there....
thankx
