What to order at Bond St?

I have a $100 gift card to Bond St that my husband and I are planning to use for dinner this Friday night to celebrate his birthday. We both love sushi (we are definitely not connoiseurs, but we do enjoy it), and my husband likes beef, although we probably would not have chosen Bond St ourselves due to its reputation for being overpriced and snooty. That said, we are looking forward to our night out. I would appreciate any suggestions as to what is a 'must try' on the menu. We probably don't want to go too far beyond the $100, so expensive bottles of sake are definitely out. Thank you in advance!

ISO Kombu Noodles

i found them at a health food store in manhattan, on third ave (west side of street) and 81st or 82nd st. i made them once in a stir fry, but they tasted really seaweedy to me (not as good as they were when i got them at caravan of dreams). if anyone has suggestions as to how to prepare them, i'd appreciate it!

Ed's Lobster Bar crab dip

...is amazing! Really rich though. I'm trying to figure out what's in it so that I can recreate a lighter version at home - definitely spinach. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!!

Looking for Mexican seafood dish w/ tomato sauce

It was so long ago, it's hard to say! It definitely was just shellfish though, and no fish.

Looking for Mexican seafood dish w/ tomato sauce

Thanks, i'll check it out (too bad their menup isn't on menupages.com!)

Looking for Mexican seafood dish w/ tomato sauce

Yes, it is warm. It's got kind of a thick sauce. Thanks!

Looking for Mexican seafood dish w/ tomato sauce

Several years ago, Zocalo, on the upper east side had a really nice entree that had shrimp, calamari and maybe scallops in a spicy tomato sauce - the served it in a stone bowl with no rice. They don't have it anymore, and I would love to find another restaurant that serves this type of dish! (Mama Mexico has something similar, but I didn't think it was that good - big presentation - not much taste or quality to the seafood). Thanks!

Soft shell crabs in nyc yet?

Thanks. I didn't know that. Sounds a bit gross, but I guess it isn't a big deal. It would be great to find them sauteed in a white wine sauce. If i could find them at a fishmarket i suppose i could just do it myself!

Soft shell crabs in nyc yet?

Thanks. I was thinking more along the lines of non-asian restaurants though.

Soft shell crabs in nyc yet?

Does anyone know of anywhere in nyc that has good soft shell crabs on the menu yet? I know it's a bit early, but I'm craving them!
Thanks
