No way is one New York slice 12-13PP. Thin Crust Pizza - New York Slice - 1/8 of a full pie at a Pizzeria - just regular cheese topping - no extras - no extra cheese - is around 7 PP. I've been counting 2 New York slices with no extra toppings as 13 PP since PP started and I haven't had any problems. You should blot down the slice to get rid of the extra oil. If you get toppings or extra cheese or a Siclian Slice than the points do start adding up.

Midtown grocery stores?

There is a supermarket on 57th Street. It's, I think, between 6th and 7th, closer to 7th. I don't remember the name but I've passed it a few times. I believe it's across the street from Carnegie Hall. Also Whole Foods is at Columbus Circle, 59th-60th and 8th Avenue.

ALDI German Discount Supermarket in Rego Park?

I live near the Rego Park Aldi's and have been in it a few times since it opened. I was very excited when it opened and I bought many things on my first trip there. Since then I've purchased less and less. In fact on my last trip I walked out without buying anything. I haven't been overly impressed by anything I've purchased and, in fact, I am really disappointed in the packaging of many of the things I bought. They are packaged in a way to try and make you think that there is a lot more inside then is actually there.

Their prices are really good and if you look the produce over very carefully you can get some good stuff at great prices. (Bagged salad greens for .99).

They don't have one house brand but rather dozens of them, all with names to suggest to you name brands.

As previously stated bring your own bags or you can purchase bags. You do your own bagging.

I don't know if it's worth a special trip but if you are near it at any of the Rego Park/Elmhurst malls or restaurants it's probably worth a look-see.

Chinese in Iconic Takeout Containers?

Call The Container Store and see if they have them. It's on 6th Avenue and around 18th Street, opposite Bed, Bath and Beyond. I haven't been in to it for a few months but I seem to remember seeing them there.

Visiting NY for 3 days over Easter

Monday after Easter is still Passover. Call Katz's first to make sure they are open.
