San Antonio/ Riverwalk - Final Four Weekend help!

Understood about the "best" lists. However, I for once agree with this recommendation and like Rosarios. I am not crazy about Mi Tierra's as this is REALLY crowded- and I have found the staff rude- and the food just OK, but I don't like the ambiance at all. Rosario's is Loud as stated, but that's part of the charm here- it's a bar/nightclub feel if you go later and there is a band= Mi Tierra's is definately not clubby-it always reminds me of a Mexican Lubys. If all you want is to chow on a great enchilda- and don't care where or how its served, go here. I always want both- great ambiance and great food. I haven't been to El Mirador for many years so can't speak to this restaurant- is that the one that claims to serve both Mexican & Seafood?

Recommendation near crescent court hotel anniversary dinner

What about Sambuca? The limo company suggested this and said that they had good entertainment if we wanted to stay and dance.

where to eat one night san antonio...

That's downtown- so forget the other suggestions- as the other poster said it's too far- there are other choices closer to town that you would be happy with.

I prefer to have breakfast rather than lunch at Taco Taco. You mentioned that you didn't want riverwalk restaurants- yet so many of the posters keep suggesting riverwalk restaurants. We have great restaurants in town that AREN'T on the riverwalk. You are staying very close to one of my favorite mexican restaurants- El Chaparral. Just go west on 1604, take Bandera Road exit, go north about 2? miles. Restaurant is on the left. Also- if you want to dine in at the hotel there is a nice restaurant on site, Francesca's at Sunset, which as the name implies has very pretty views especially at sunset..They have a vertical Caesar salad that's fun to try at least once, nice wine list,. There are also two wonderful Italian restaurants- Paesenos at NWmilitary/1604 (except the last time I was there the service was just not up to par) and Reggianos- which is at Stone Oak & 1604- and has great food. Silo is also in the Ventura plaza right at 1604- and almost always impresses- and is local/non chain. The Liberty Bar is probably the farthest from your hotel- but is close to downtown/game- and as other posters have stated- is a nice choice.

San Antonio: Cheap, local Mexican

My favorite is El Chapparel on Bandera Road just outside Loop 1604 on the left. No puffy tacos- but the Helotes Delight is a nice combo plate. They opened a new location near bulverde&1604, which is more centrally located- but I have not been to this location yet- and I really like the original location.

Recommendation near crescent court hotel anniversary dinner

I need suggestions for romantic restaurant near crescent court hotel. I had made reservations for Nobu- as it was on site and seemed like it might be interesting, even though it's a chain..but seeing so many mixed reviews and no real recent raves I'm reconsidering. Anyone eaten at the Crescent Club? Can't find a menu.. The capital grille appears to be close, but again a chain- and apparently very noisy/pricey. I dont' mind paying but only if it's really worth it. I've also ruled out Mansion on Turtle Creek.

I agree with Rosario's. Voted best place to take out of town guests for mexican food by locals & best salsa. It's not a chain- they have latin bands w/salsa dancing on the weekends- and that's usually what I find everyone wants when they come to town- Mexican food- in terms of something that San Antonio is known for. Another Mex. spot not mentioned that I like for fajitas & oysters is La Margarita- strolling mariachi bands supersized margaritas- outdoor seating in the heart of Mexican marketplace. Both of these choices are pretty reasonable compared to other locations. La Pesca at the watermark hotel- also has an oyster menu= with over 15? different types of oysters as well as a host of other offerings-with an emphasis on fish- hence the name, La Pesca.

viaggio's las vegas?

Has anyone been here recently? How far is this restaurant from the signature@MGM?
I have heard the views are wonderful and the restaurant intimate, however the reviews
I have found are mostly old and mixed, with some raves and some rants. I was thinking of going here rather than SeaBlue, which reviews (again none too recent) suggest to be noisy (but it is conveniently located at our hotel). I don't want French food-and was looking for more of an eating experiance w/ambiance to celebrate my b-day. I should add that I rarely order fish out(not including Seafood, which I truly enjoy), and have been thinking of ordering the Kobe Beef at Sea Blue.

fun good food 10 minutes or less from westlake

What are the best non-romantic restaurants near westlake or southlake? We are staying
at the Marriot Solana for race weekend with our son and his wife and don't want to travel
far from the hotel. Any comments on La Scala, http://lascalajoes.com/, which is located next to hotel? Just don't want gourmet type foods or steakhouse. Fun atmosphere w/great drinks and appetizers a plus.
