Ma Peche (NYC) vegetable recipes?

I had this dish a couple of weeks ago and also can't stop thinking about them. I practically devoured the whole dish myself. If you find a link to a copycat recipe please post it here.

Mercato Hells Kitchen

Does anyone know if the menu is the same as their lunch/dinner menu for Saturday and Sunday brunch? I want to go there but I want to try items on there lunch/dinner menu not breakfast like items. On another thought-I had my heart set on lunch at Momofuku Ssam bar for Saturday brunch/lunch but now I am thinking Ma Peche instead mainly due to reading Ziggy's blog. It has become my new favorite NYC food page. Any thoughts out there? Ma Peche is closer to where I am staying but I have no problem taking the subway either.

brunch/saturday lunch with mother in law, mom and teenage daughter

Ended up going with Five Points. So glad we had a reservation. Everyone enjoyed the food especially the lemon ricotta pancakes. It was quite loud for the old ladies but they managed. Thanks everyone.

Quick note on Laduree SoHo

Back to Laduree Soho-Does anyone know if I could get a table if only having a breakfast pastry/dessert and tea or would I have to order an entrée off the brunch menu on the weekends?

Thanks for all the replies. I know you New Yorkers would come through!!! I was kind of thinking of Five Points myself. In a couple of weeks I will let you know where we went and how it went over with the family. In the meantime keep the ideas coming.

brunch/saturday lunch with mother in law, mom and teenage daughter

Looking for a nice place for either brunch or lunch. Mother in law is more the 5th Ave type. Décor ranks higher than food for her. Mom is funky-more downtown than uptown lady. Daughter-will find something to eat but no seafood. I am open to anything but have to consider my companions for this trip. We will be down in Soho for a hair appt. and the less walking for the mothers would be great. Not opposed to taking the subway. Also the mothers are hard of hearing so a place that isn't too loud would be good. I know that is a lot of special requests but I know you chow hounders can help me out.
Thank you.

Dinner/Late lunch near Town Hall Theater

Manhattan-Anywhere really from 110th and Broadway to the LES. Like any kind of cuisine. Funky-out of the ordinary is good. Saturday 4/5/2014. The show at Town Hall begins at 5:45pm. Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor. Can't imagine that it will go pass 8pm. Would like to stick to the $75.00 before tip, tax, alcohol.
Butter, Momofuku, The Nomad are on my bucket list. Any thoughts on these?
Don't really want to dress up for dinner.

Anyone been to Taboon recently?

If you decide on Gazala's place check out the Groupon deal. Went for dinner at the Columbus Ave location and it was pretty tasty and a good deal.

Dinner/Late lunch near Town Hall Theater

Looking for place for dinner or possibly late lunch near the Town Hall Theater on 43W street. The show starts at 5:45pm so I think pre theater menus are out. Thinking of spending $75.00 per person. Open to any type of food and would probably prefer a more casual place where we won't have to dress up but top notch food is the most important. Also any hole in the wall places for cheap meals in that area would be a plus. I spend lots of time in the city but not usually in the midtown/Times Square area.

Looking for best fancy pants burger

Looking to try the best fancy pants burger in Manhattan. Can't decide between Minetta Tavern or DB Bistro. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I have already been to Five Napkin and Peter Luger.

Beauty and Essex

Brunch is good. Especially loved the Emerald cocktail and the tomato soup dumplings. There is a deal out there on Gilt City.com for brunch for 2 with a bottle of Champagne for $70.00. A really good deal as brunch for the 4 of us with 3 cocktails and one non alcoholic drink was pushing $250.00 with tip.

Cronuts that good???

I also had been to DA way before the cronut explosion. My question is if I want something other than that do you still have to wait in line or can you walk in?

Best Bread in NYC?

My daughter and I live for the chocolate orange rolls on the weekends!! Also the apricot hazelnut baguette and the chive cheddar pastry are terrific. I'm hungry now.
It's worth a trip uptown to Silver Moon.

Seatac to Silverdale

Flying into Seatac in the evening. Figuring by the time we pick up the car it will be after 9pm on a weekday. Any ideas where we can get a casual quick bite to eat on our way to Silverdale. We will be driving around-not taking the ferry. Easy on easy off I-5 would be ideal. Open to anything especially ethnic options.

Lunch near Federal Reserve Bank

Weekday lunch. I was thinking about SHO. Do you think we can make it out by 1:45 if we sit down at noon?

Lunch near Federal Reserve Bank

I am looking for a place for lunch near the Fed. Going with the inlaws and a somewhat picky teenager. Ambiance is more important to my mother in law than the food. Just to give you an idea-she really loves Jean George, Perry St., Tao. She would like to go to someplace nice but I am concerned that if we get to lunch at noon would we be able to make a 2:15pm reservation at the bank. Someplace close would be ideal. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I am glad you liked it. I live over an hour away from there and since I have been going to Shanghai Gourmet any other chinese food near me is just gross compared to them.

Any Tamales in the Greater New Haven Area? In Connecticut?

I am very fond of the tamale in the banana leaf at El Mariachi Loco in Manchester.

Any Tamales in the Greater New Haven Area? In Connecticut?

Can't speak for the tamales at Taqueria Mexico in Wallingford but I will find any excuse to stop there anywhere between Middletown and New Haven. The burrittos are great especially the chirizzo and the corchinta peril. Pardon the spelling. And they are a steal at $5.50 each.

Breakfast for 4 at Shopsin's

went there for the first time Saturday 12/31. I am also in love with the food and place although I was a little afraid of being kicked out. Had the mac and cheese pancakes and my husband had the bastard. Incredibly good food. Thought I might have seen Tina Wong aka the Wandering Eater there. Is there anyone out there to confirm this?

I need new ideas for lunch with the inlaws. We went to Jean George and they loved it. Something in that price range would be good as I am picking up the check. Any part of Manhattan.

Chow in Fall River Mass.?

I love Sam's. I have been going there about once a year as I am 2 hours away for the last 20 years. We buy several dozen pies(the meat and open cheese are our favorites) and freeze them when we get home. Heated up in the oven, they are almost as good as fresh out of their oven. And of course we eat some on the roof of our car. I have yet to find anything like that anywhere else in the country. My old boss told me about it as he grew up in Fall River. I think you would only find it by word of mouth. I think I might pull some out tonight for dinner.
