Lunch in/near Orange, CT
I am glad you liked it. I live over an hour away from there and since I have been going to Shanghai Gourmet any other chinese food near me is just gross compared to them.

Shanghai Gourmet across from Trader Joe's on the post road.
Any Tamales in the Greater New Haven Area? In Connecticut?
I am very fond of the tamale in the banana leaf at El Mariachi Loco in Manchester.
Any Tamales in the Greater New Haven Area? In Connecticut?
Can't speak for the tamales at Taqueria Mexico in Wallingford but I will find any excuse to stop there anywhere between Middletown and New Haven. The burrittos are great especially the chirizzo and the corchinta peril. Pardon the spelling. And they are a steal at $5.50 each.
Breakfast for 4 at Shopsin's
went there for the first time Saturday 12/31. I am also in love with the food and place although I was a little afraid of being kicked out. Had the mac and cheese pancakes and my husband had the bastard. Incredibly good food. Thought I might have seen Tina Wong aka the Wandering Eater there. Is there anyone out there to confirm this?
Ideas for lunch pre fixe
Thanks for the ideas. I was also thinking about Toqueville. Any thoughts on that?
Ideas for lunch pre fixe
I need new ideas for lunch with the inlaws. We went to Jean George and they loved it. Something in that price range would be good as I am picking up the check. Any part of Manhattan.

New Arepas place on UWS
Last time I was up near 104th and Broadway I thought a saw a sign for an Arepas place. Might be where Tokyo Pop used to be. Anybody out there with info?
margarita brunch
I am looking for an unlimited margarita brunch available on Saturdays. Any ideas besides Maracas, Valmos and Bone Lick Park? Any part of Manhattan.
Chow in Fall River Mass.?
I love Sam's. I have been going there about once a year as I am 2 hours away for the last 20 years. We buy several dozen pies(the meat and open cheese are our favorites) and freeze them when we get home. Heated up in the oven, they are almost as good as fresh out of their oven. And of course we eat some on the roof of our car. I have yet to find anything like that anywhere else in the country. My old boss told me about it as he grew up in Fall River. I think you would only find it by word of mouth. I think I might pull some out tonight for dinner.
restaurants near 4 west 33rd street
Thanks. I will check out the links. For some reason I didn't think I was so close to Herald Square. Whenever I am near there I think of BonChon chicken and even though I love it I want to branch out and try a new place.
poco brunch
Thanks for your reply. It sounds like a restaurant where the food is just as good as the cocktails.
Looking for a good lunch spot in Upper West Side... Tacos??
I second that. I actually searched out this truck. Some of the best tacos in nyc
restaurants near 4 west 33rd street
Going to visit a shop at 4 west 33rd street between 5th and 6th ave. Any good restaurants out there? Thinking lunch but not terribly expensive. Thinking a casual place. Entrees $20.00 or less. Anything ethnic a plus. No chains please except maybe Shake Shack.
poco brunch
I want to go to the cocktail brunch at poco this weekend. Do you think it would be okay to bring our 12 year old daughter with us?

best burger on UWS
Thanks for the advice. Do you need a reservation for 5 napkin or do you think a 4 top can walk in around 7pm on a Friday night? Shake Shack is also on my list as I have never been there and I know people rave about it. Keep the ideas coming as I am willing to travel up to about 112th street on Broadway or vacinity.
best burger on UWS
Having a craving for a fantastic juicy burger in the neighborhood. Thinking about 5 napkin or Big Nick's. Opinions appreciated and any other suggestions.

Best Vietnamese restaurant in Hartford area
Kattyeyes-maybe it is a polish place where Truc used to be. As she said #17 at Pho Boston can't be beat. I call it crack soup as I am addicted to it and usually have it once a week. On another subject-I am always looking for Bunh Mi in the Hartford area. Are there any good places out there for that. I always have some in NYC but sometimes I have a craving at home for it.

Best Vietnamese restaurant in Hartford area
Wow-Truc is a blast from the past. It was one of the first Vietnamese restaurants I ever tried. I still make their shaking beef from their cookbook and they had the best Happy Pancakes.
Now that building is some kind of clothing store.
Middle Eastern/ Turkish
Thanks for the replies. I will look up both of them. RGR-love your LES tour and all of your suggestions.
Middle Eastern/ Turkish
Looking for a place like Turkuaz on the UWS that has a buffet. Prefer lunch or Saturday brunch. Willing to travel all over Manhattan and possibly Brooklyn. Any ideas appreciated.

tacqeira Mexico on Rt 5 near Chef's Emporium. Carne Asada breakfast burrito. $5.00 and fills you up till dinner time
Bakery / Cake near Columbia University
it's probably after the fact but I just love Silver Moon on Broadway and 105th. Everything is made from scratch and I am a professional pastry chef so I am very picky but I just love this place.
Where's the best bowl of pho in southern NE.?
glad you liked it. I could have it several times a week and not tire of it.
Shawarma & Falafel Question
I have to second Pan about Jerusalem Restaurant. I can never decide between the shawarma or the chicken kabab. It's hard to just walk by there without going in as it smells so good from the street.
Where's the best bowl of pho in southern NE.?
Hands down Pho Boston in West Hartford is the best for Pho. Order # 17. It's a little spicy and delicious. We have been known to eat # 17 more than once a week. I am very close to Pho Mai but I always travel to Pho Boston as Pho Mai doesn't even compare.

Korean fried chicken in CT?
I have only been to Bon Chon but I hear good things about Mad for Chicken. My better half and I think we need to open a franchaise here in CT. I am also thinking about trying to make it at home for Super Bowl weekend.
cape canaveral
Our cruise ship is docking there for a day. Looking for a great place for lunch. Any kind of food but no chains please. Love casual hole in the wall places that locals go to but I won't have a car so please take that into consideration. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Korean fried chicken in CT?
I don't really like fried chicken but after taking one bite of this kind I said chicken wing "I love you". I think it's the soy garlic glaze on the chicken after it's fried that is soooooo good.
Korean fried chicken in CT?
I am in love with Korean fried chicken that I have had several times in NYC. Is their anything in CT?
