Dick and Jenny's?

NO I would not. 1179 is ok but its pretty typical Italian food. Coquette is special, local, seasonal ingredients.

Breakfast or lunch on or near the St. Charles streetcar line

Luke is a good suggestion. Herbaint for lunch would be amazing! My pallete prefers Herbsaint to Luke. There a new place called The Irish House on the corner of St Charles and Melpomene. I've been a few times bcs I live near there and was really impressed with my breakfast last week, it's a cozy Irish "style" bar/restaurant where you can get a nice plate for breakfast. I had the Veggie egg dish on top of a potato cake with goat cheese and I will be going back for that dish. Other choices are...Surrey's (on Magazine) for breakfast, a few block walk through the lower garden district for a Costa Rican inspired breakfast menu with fresh juices and a variety of dishes. Enjoy sounds like a nice way to spend the day....

Dick and Jenny's?

I haven't heard much about it recently. I know they had some changes in their chef and possibly ownership - I went about 2 years ago and it was ok. Theres so many new and old places that are consistent and trustworthy - why risk it?

Blue Plate, Surrey's, Coquette (for lunch), and Cafe Atchafalya (also for lunch), Stein's on Magazine (great bagels, sandwhiches)

Foodie needs help on her quest to eat her way through NOLA

I'd skip Jaquimo's it's fun but the food is not all that great. I would look at Coquette, Patois, Lillete. Coquette has $5 glasses of wine and $5 specialty cocktail on Wed & Thrs and their food is amazing. great spot to sit at the bar and enjoy a bit and beverage. I was really impressed with Dominique's on Magazine over the summer. One of my favorite lunch spots is Lilette I could sit in a booth for hours and brunch at Cafe Degas is a special experience, especially if the weather is nice. Good luck out there!

Seeking kitchy fun restaurant for locals

I like this idea - exploring good food off the beaten path in NOLA is fun...I like the Trey Yuen idea, I also like Nine Roses Vietnamese on the west bank. They have awesome wooden table over the top asian decorations and reall fun cook your own meat grill style entree that I love. I also like going to the west bank for Papusas at the Papusaria. Caretta on Verterans is pretty fun too.... there's one night they have mexicanmusic and its lively. Good luck!

Best restaurants for a group of male golfers?

I think Mr. B's and GW Fins are both great choices. Bourbon House on Bourbon street is lively as it is all glass and sits on Bourbon street also with a full oyster bar. The food is hearty and maybe not my favorite but good service and atmosphere make up for it.

1st trip to NOLA planned for Feb 22nd-26th. Need help!!

Agreed those are all good suggestions. Especially August and Cochon. Call ahead since it will be very busy season some additional suggestions in a variety of areas are Upperline, Boucherie, Le Petit Grocery, Clancy's, Patois, Lilette, Geatreau's (Uptown), Ralphs on the Park (Mid-City) , Mr. B's, Rib Room, K-Paul's (French Quarter). If you have the chance to enjoy a bruch it is one of the best meals we serve Le Petit, Cafe Degas are two to look at for Sat/Sunday brunch. There's also a great little place called Stanley in the french qtr that serves ciner style food but it is the bro to Stella one of the best restaurants in the city. They have delicious gumbo, po boys and you can sit and watch Jackson square while you wander the city. Enjoy!

NOLA Foodie in Memphis

I live in New Orleans, love all good food, and will be traveling to Memphis in late Oct for a ladies trip. Can anyone suggest some places to eat anything from brunch, soul food, deli's etc....? Anything good. I know we'll hit up some bbq places but want to see what else the city has to offer.

Where to go for Jazz Brunch

Family is coming for the holidays and would like to enjoy a traditional jazz brunch. I have not been to Court of Two Sisters, Arnoud's etc in many years. How are they? Any places you would suggest?

Somewhere to eat Lundi Gras night???

I would like to take some out of town guest to a nice meal this coming Monday night. (Lundi Gras)They're foodies who have eaten at many of the restaurants here. It's always hard on a Monday night - any suggestions? How about the new place that starts with a 'P' where Nardo's used to be on Laurel?
Thank you for your help.

Stanley's Is it open?

So I heard. They've been closed for renovations for awhile and were slated to be open by now but I was told that thet are going to reopen to different location somewhere also in the neighborhood I hope.

Lattes in the Marigny

For coffee in the AM; yes Flora's is there but be warned it's a heavy local place with cheap coffee and the neighborhood is very nitty gritty bohemian. I sent a well traveled liberal friend there in the am to do some work and she was uncomfortable they also smoke inside. Rose Nicaud is centrally located with diverse clientelle and is open at 7am there is also Marigny Perks on Burgundy and Marigny; great little local spot with the best coffee in the neighborhood.

Stanley's Is it open?

I miss it too!!! and coincidence, just last night I heard from close secret source that they will not be reopening in that location. They're in conversation to move to undisclosed relocation but one that is close to the FQ.

Seeking A Gracious and Special Dinner for my Parents

My three suggestions are; Brigtsen's (cottage style, excellent creole style food and attentive service), Clancy's (The ultimate "old school" New Orl. dining experience) and of course Stella being arguably the best restarant in town these days.
