Why is the Olive Garden so reviled?
That is no surprise. I am not a food snob, but every meal I have eaten there has tasted premade and frozen, so now if my friends insist on having lunch there, I do soup and salad. Its cheap and passable.
Kelsey's Essentials
I tried a pie recipe of SL's and it failed too. That was the first and last recipe of hers I tried. I learned my lesson!
Why is the Olive Garden so reviled?
My son and I joke that their creations are "pasta stuffed with cheese, with chicken covered by alfredo sauce topped with grated cheese. " we make it a game who can come up with the cheesiest alfredoist dish ever.
Chopped All-Stars Finale (5/6/2012) [SPOILERS]
Yes that is another one of my issues. I wonder, where is she shopping and what are the real costs of the meal? I cook, I don't use the most expensive ingredients, but she makes 3 courses the times I have seen her... how?
Around the World in 80 Plates [Split from Top Chef thread]
I saw that a few times and really liked it. GR comes off so much better when he isn't doing HK or KN.
Tilted Kilt
they opened one up near us, after perusing the website, I decided the food was standard pub food, not interesting enough for me. I also have no desire to see scantily clad women.
Buffalo Wild Wings???
I just love their buffalo chips. I could eat an entire container just of those. Perhaps next time I will.
Wendy's chili cheese fries
I was thinking the same thing. I do like their chili but it is too watery to go on fries.
Chopped All-Stars Finale (5/6/2012) [SPOILERS]
And as prices go up and up, how long can she carry that?
Kelsey's Essentials
I caught it by accident and really liked it. She has a great personality and enthusiasm for what she is cooking. Great tips, great recipes and fun show.
'Chopped' trio vs. team Garces on Iron Chef America [spoilers]
I really think FN needs to give this guy his own show, or make him an Iron Chef. He is so good.
"Next Food Network Star".....some of these contestants look familiar.....
I thought, seeing the ads, that a few faces were familiar. I don't know if I will like this new season. I saw Giada says something to the effect that if they have the personality but not the cooking skills, she can teach them. What is that about?
Better Cuban Restuarants in Chicago
There used to be a real nice place in Naperville that I could get the food I grew up with, then they closed. A couple of other places opened and closed since then. Looks like the burbs just don't do Cuban food.
ALDI and Fage Yogurt
Mine had it as well, but I stocked up for cheaper at the Jewel Osco by me. $1.39 vs. $1.
Cracker Barrel - Best bang for your buck?
When they first opened by me, the food was plentiful and quite tasty. After about a year, portion size went down, the food was overcooked, not a good value. I haven't gone back in years, the last time I couldn't cut the ham as it was overcooked and what little I was able to gnaw off was too salty.
Kitchen Nightmares Routines
i prefer the British version as well. Not so dramatic and to the point.
Panera Bread v. grocery store bakery
I agree, their pastries are ordinary. I do like their bagels and their bread is fantastic. We received a gift card from a relative and ate so much sourdough bread!
KFC Hot Wings -- puny and not very hot
My husband and son were very excited to try them when they came out. The excitement died quickly when they actually ate them.
Any comments on 'The Sandwich King' first episode?
I think they are going to try to get him to do another show ala Guy.
School lunches from 20 countries
I love the artichoke!!! some of that food looks very good. I have to laugh, my son stopped eating lunch at school because he says the food is revolting. The seniors eat at a different cafeteria and the food is different.
December 16th “Free Fries Friday” at Burger King
I liked Wendy's old fries better too. The new ones are not bad, just liked the others.
December 16th “Free Fries Friday” at Burger King
I fell for their "new and improved" fries once... not sure if I want to risk it again.
Chopped - Lunch Ladies Rule!
It was a wonderful episode and I also had tears in my eyes.
Jacques Pepin shows you how on the NY Times website
I do like him too. I was watching him the other day (as opposed to The Chew that was on the same time) and realized, you don't need bells and whistles to show people how to cook!
IRON CHEF AMERICA: Lee Anne Wong versus Marc Forgione [spoilers]
I watched it but thought the ingredient was silly. If they wanted to do a Halloween episode why not have odd cuts of meat, like chicken or pigs feet or brains. I felt like I was going into a diabetic coma watching the show!
