Best Greek in Seattle

We 100% agree - appetizers are the way to go - and it makes it a fantastic place.

Note: If you are vegetarian - the appetizers are fantastic for vegetarians, but all of the main dishes have meat in them. Still go though - 3-4 appetizers is a great meal

Whats missing in Queen Anne??

Molly Moon's is packed every evening in Wallingford. So good ice cream makes money - or at least I have to presume.

GOOD BEE-BIM-BOP in SEATTLE

Second this - Red Bowls is always good and quick, which is great for the lunch crowd. Much better than the places in the food court across the street. I love it with the egg on top.

Queen Anne 2009 (SEA)

The old hardware shop/new pizza place has details up on the exterior - pizza, delivery available - liquor license application is posted as well

Queen Anne 2009 (SEA)

There's a sign on the door that they are going to open Monday, February 2nd as "Opal Bistro" and be more "reasonably priced and neighborhood friendly". There wasn't much more detail than that though.

Queen Anne 2009 (SEA)

I didn't know about Opal, but we just discussed a bunch of Queen Anne places at the following post: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/578083

what's taking over the old TeaPot in Upper Queen Anne?

is Vincenzo's on McGraw shutting down, or is this in addition to?

Chowhound Post

what's taking over the old TeaPot in Upper Queen Anne?

Jamba Juice's last day is either today or tomorrow - it's shutting down.

The Pasta and Co question was about what's going into the new building that took over the old spot.

The ice cream place kitty corner from Met Market closed down over the summer, and nothing's come in yet.

The place next to Sully's just got new ownership; not sure too much about it otherwise.

Best bagel in Seattle?

now, that's going the extra mile for sunday morning bagels!

Chowhound Post

what's taking over the old TeaPot in Upper Queen Anne?

a good sandwich place would be nice.

There's also the Jamba Juice location opening up soon - so a couple of new places will be available.

what's taking over the old TeaPot in Upper Queen Anne?

I meant TeaCup, not TeaPot, by the way.

what's taking over the old TeaPot in Upper Queen Anne?

Now that TeaPot has moved into the old Tully's, anyone know what's taking over it's old spot? We could really use a ice cream place up here (since the old one closed last year). I would think a Molly Moon's-like place would do well up here. We definitely do not need another coffee shop on that corner!

On that note, any other rumors of restaurants going into any of the under-construction buildings - (the old Pasta and Co location, for example)?

Best bagel in Seattle?

Got in a conversation with a friend over this, so thought I'd get recommendations here - what are people's votes for best bagel in town?

On a related note, as I like having this on a bagel, any one know a good place for whitefish salad spread? Noah's (who's bagels aren't great), used to have a great whitefish salad on a bagel sandwich, but they stopped carrying it last year.

Thanks!

Authentic Lebanese Food in Seattle area?

i just had King Falafel for the first time; definitely takes my recommendation as best falafel in town.

Chowhound Post

Matt's, Steelhead or Campagne?

i've only had good meals at steelhead, but we often eat heavy-on-appetizers style. The corn on the cob and fried smelt, in particular, are out of this world.

Queen Anne Updates?

the corner of coffee shops up on QA is changing again, Tully's has closed, and TeaCup is moving to take over the bigger space. Not sure what's going in TeaCup's old spot.

Hidden Vegetarian Restaurants?

Sutra just opened in Wallingford. Haven't heard too much about it yet though - I just posted a question to ask if anyone else has - http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/546016

Any one check out Sutra (http://www.sutraseattle.com/) yet and have a review to pass along?

Thanks!

Seattle - Pike Market Place - Cheap Eats - Hate Salmon

the vegan chowder is fantastic. it is what makes me keep wanting to go back. There's a coupon in the Entertainment Book as well, if you have one of those.

Seattle: Outdoor Dining with Dog?

there's a discussion at http://community.livejournal.com/seat... as well. Note: it digresses into "should dogs be at Restaurants" pretty quickly, but a few places are named.

Anybody have impost on The Pink Door in Sea?

last time I was there, they had one of the best Vegetarian Lasagnas in town. Not quite as good as Cafe Lagos, but definitely the second best I have had since I have been in Seattle. Not sure if that's your thing though. Deck/view are nice as well.

Seattle - Pike Market Place - Cheap Eats - Hate Salmon

we're a fan of pike place chowder for a quick meal, especially for lunch. I'd also second World Class Chili - that place is great as a hearty lunch, especially during winter.

Chowhound Post

Authentic Lebanese Food in Seattle area?

compared to the detroit places (I also grew up there), not much compares. I'd have to second Karam's as the best I have had here though. And second the "you better like garlic" suggestion - they use a ton.

Seattle: Outdoor Dining with Dog?

Norm's in fremont has a couple of sidewalk tables; very dog friendly.

there are other places I have heard of as well, but have not tried them yet. looking forward to seeing others suggestions from this thread.

Clover coffee brewers (SEA)

we were walking around "downtown" magnolia the other day, and saw an indie coffee shop that had it - there was a big "Clover" here sign in front.

I think Stumptown's also have them (Capitol Hill, among others), but am not positive.

Chowhound Post

Hidden Vegetarian Restaurants?

we just ate at "In the Bowl" on Capitol Hill (denny/olive area). Fantastic job at veggie asian food; just watch out - their 3 stars is anyone else's 4 or 5 for spiciness.

Sabich in Seattle?

thanks for the ideas! i'll check them out.

Chowhound Post

Hidden Vegetarian Restaurants?

Pabla Indian Cuisine in both Renton and Issaquah are also very good vegetarian Indian places; note - the downtown Seattle sells meat, but still has a wide choice of veggie options.

Sabich in Seattle?

I just spent a wonderful week in Israel, and came to love an Iraqi dish called Sabich (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabich for more), which is often called falafel's little cousin. This one is eggplant and egg in pita, among other salads and spices.

I'd love to find a place to have it here, but don't remember having seen it at any of my normal falafel joints. Anyone ever seen this around town?

Alternatively, I found a recipe to approximate it at http://anopencupboard.com/2006/11/03/... which I will of course try, but, first, there are 2 key ingredients I would need to source, so if anyone has any ideas, it would be very appreciated:

1) Amba, a sort of sour mango pickle sauce
2) Multi-cleft heirloom eggplant variety known in the Middle East as “baladi”

Thanks!

Rubashkins Aaron's Best Turkey

Albertson's in downtown Mercer Island, or the QFC at U-Village should both have them. PCC in Seward Park likely does as well. Those are the 3 grocery stores with (large/any) Kosher meat departments, which Rubashkins' is.

Trader Joes has some Kosher meat departments, but I've never seen them carry the whole birds.
