Anyone been to the new Montreal Smoked Meat deli in Brooklyn, called "MILE END" ????

No it doesn't. Still, "such-and-such item came out of the kitchen too cold" sounds like something that can be fixed fairly easily, and would seem to fall within the realm of "the kitchen staff are still working out the kinks."

On the other hand, "the sandwiches are small and expensive" doesn't sound like it's something we can necessarily expect to change.

Best place to get fresh seafood and or chicken eggs near Brooklyn Heights?

Given that I'm eating a delicious salmon filet from Fish Tales as I see this thread, I'd be remiss if I didn't recommend it. Fish Tales is an excellent store. Great selection, great quality, helpful staff.

Citi Field Eats

I agree with NYLSer that the fries at Box Frites were very good. My father and I actually really liked the smoky bacon dipping sauce but I could see how it wouldn't be for everyone.

Enjoyed the three taco combo also. Realized after I ate them that I had no idea which salsa was "supposed to" go with which taco but no major harm done.

Really enjoy the fact that sauerkraut, red onions, raw onions, relish and hot peppers are readily available by all the hot dog stands.

Late-Night Pizza In Cobble Hill/Boerum Hill/Carroll Gardens?

*sigh*, that's what I was afraid of. I've gone the Ziad's route a few times and it's starting to seem like the best option.

Late-Night Pizza In Cobble Hill/Boerum Hill/Carroll Gardens?

What the topic says, basically. I moved to Cobble Hill about six months ago and I love the area, except that all the pizzerias seem to close up shop around 11pm on weekends, which is just plain not late enough to grab a slice on the way home from a night out. (Well, the Domino's at Bergen and Smith is open until 2am, but that hardly counts.) I was going to walk up and down Henry, Clinton, Court and Smith between Atlantic and 1st Place or so some night just to see what I came across, but I figured I'd ask around before burning two hours.

Ideally, I'm looking for a place along Smith or Court or Clinton and somewhere between Carroll and Bergen Streets, but beggars can't be choosers so a bit further south or east or west is acceptable too. (A bit meaning a block or two - a place at 3rd and Union isn't really much good to me.) I've already scoured the area up around Atlantic pretty well without success, and my former go-to spot at Willoughby and Pearl seemed to have closed up shop last time I went past. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Schweinshaxe?

Weird - I must've just plain not seen it somehow. Thanks!

Schweinshaxe?

I tried schweinshaxe (sometimes also known as eisbein, as I understand it) when I was in Germany last August and it was really good. Now here I am, months later, and I could really go for some more of that stuff. I haven't seen it on the menu at German places I've been to in NYC (which, granted, are limited to Lederhosen, Heidelberg, and Zum Schneider), nor is it listed on the online version of the menu at Zum Stammitsch (which people seem to agree is the best German food in the city). Any help about where I might find some?

St. Louis Downtown Recommendations?

I'm headed out to St. Louis for the NCAA hockey championships in a few weeks, and I'm looking for some restaurant recommendations. The catch is that my friends and I will be staying downtown (right near the ballpark) and won't have access to a car (unless there's something that's so VERY can't-miss that we'd be remiss not to spring for a cab), so we're limited to what's easily accessible by public transportation or (ideally) within walking distance. Thanks!
