DILL WEED

I bought some dill weed at St. Lawrence market on Sat. and then accidently left it in my car.
Anyone have any suggestions about where else in Toronto to get my hands on some?

Oyster deals?

The lounge at the Intercontinental hotel on front has $1 oysters during blue jays games.

I won the fantasy hockey pool..now what?

Out of your list of possiblities I would choose Globe. They have a great menu, and we've had great service there. Was confident enough to take the parents with us last time and had a great dinner.

Decent afternoon tea in Toronto?

Has anyone been to the Old Mill for the afternoon tea. Was thinking about taking my aunt, but havent heard anything about the place. The website looks nice though.

Distillery District

Was at Tappo the other week, things started off well, but went down hill. (literally since we were sitting on a very sloped patio)
Just wanted to enjoy a late lunch, so started off with two glasses of chilled white wine.
The apps were really nice. Pleasing presentation, and well seasoned. I had the calamari and my friend had the niagra prosciotto ham
But then came the mains. I had a bland clam linguini, and my friend had the gnocci. the gnocci came out black. I think it was supposed to be fried, but this was charred. When the server returned for a quality checked he could tell there was a problem. He asked if my friend liked the gnocci, when she said no, he picked up the plate and disappeared. We were left wondering what was going on. He returned 5 minutes later, with a completely different dish, this one boiled and swimming in some sort of sauce. Then the waiter disappeared. Unfortunately that left my friend without a fork!! The server did not appear for another 10 minutes, and when he saw the plate untouched, quickly took it back and said we would not be charged for it!! Well great, but had it come with some utensils we maybe could have eaten it. (even with a fork it was still pretty tasteless)
Dont think we'll be back

The Fifth...(another long one from me)

Just picking my jaw up off the floor!! It always amazing me when resturants get it that wrong. Personally i would have had a few words to someone about the bill. No way am i going to pay 50 dollars for a steak and not get to eat it.

Summerlicious 2007

Went to the Rosewater Supper Club last night for Summerlicious. Gorgeous building, with the water wall and the two level resturant. It was rather busy, but found the service was attentive, and our waiter was friendly and extremely helpful in choosing a wine that wasn't too pricey, but went well with the meal.
We both started with the squash angolotti pasta. I had the chicken stuffed with mushroom for a main course. My partner had the "surf and turf" which i was quite suprised to see on a licious menu. It consisted of a striploin of beef, with jumbo shrimp. Desert was a basket of strawberry's. Quite simple, but very refreshing with the ice cream!!
Would go back again!!

Habitat - Review (Long)

Where is the new Chef from???

Best foie gras in city?

Was at Pied du Cochon for the first time on Tuesday. Couldnt believe the place was packed. All other resturants around it were empty. Had the Foie Gras Burger. Like heaven in a bun. Thought he would be chinzy with the Foie, but it was bigger than anything served in toronto. Also had the Duck in Can. Brilliant. And perfectly cooked. The can is now sitting proudly on our mantle.
