Casual early dinner between Met and Guggenheim

Looking for a non-burger casual spot I can bring my 6 year old daughter. Something i can pretend is somewhat healthy like Paninis, salads or upscale pizza.

Help! Restaurants that don't take reservations?

Just had to cancel our reservation at Rendezvous in Cambridge tonight b/c our party jumped from 2 to 5. At this late hour we're out of luck on reservations at our other choices (B&G Oysters, Marco, etc.). Looking for some ideas on restaurants that don't take reservations. We're heading out at 6 so can maybe beat the crowds a little.

Temple Bar Update

I live right down the street from the Temple Bar but had avoided it for years after one mediocre appetizer get together with some people from work. However I recently tried it out again and loved it! I've been back again since. Both times we sat in the bar area, so no reservations and no wait (and service was great). Things we love: tuna tartare app, includes a very nice presentation of tuna, seaweed salad and avocado (love it so much I got it twice). First time we got the whole belly clams, huge serving and delicious. Disappointed to not see it on the menu the second time but got the calamari instead and it was just as good. Risotto is delicious. We've also had the caesar salad, which is good (admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of this in general, but my husband seemed to enjoy it) and it's large enough for two.

I love the atmosphere. It's dark and cozy but also not clausterphobic feeling since there are big windows all along the front.

Best Breakfast/Brunch near Inman?

I live b/w Harvard & Porter and LOVE breakfast. My hands down favorite place is right over the Cambridge line in Watertown - Deluxe Diner. I love love love their sweet potato pancakes. They also have a really extensive tea list, which is strange for a diner - but fun.

I've been to Neighborhood a few years ago and although I wanted to love it (free breakfast appetizers, who doesn't like that), I just wasn't impressed with the food. But maybe it's changed since then.

Ryles for Sunday jazz brunch is also fun and the food is pretty yummy. Not the biggest menu but all the standards.

Rehearsal Dinner in North Cambridge?

You should try Elephant Walk. I went there for a rehearsal dinner a couple years ago, about 30-40 people. We had a private room in the back, which was nice. I believe there was a special menu with a few items to choose from, including some more standard items for people that might not be into the French/Cambodian thing.
