I'm your typical broke college kid and i need help with dinner tonight!
Are you envisioning some kind of chicken/rice saute combo similar to a stir fry? Cut the chicken in strips, saute in pan with a little olive oil or nonstick spray, turning to brown on all sides. Meanwhile, cook the veggie/rice in microwave.
Combine cooked veggie/rice mixture with chicken in saute pan and add enough bbq sauce to put flavor throughout (you wont probably need more than 1/4 cup). Stir well, let heat through and eat!
Discontinued at Trader Joe's (started 6/19/2011) [old]
With the exception of the gazpacho, the refridgerated soups are seasonal. They will be back in the fall.
Melbourne for a group of 50 college students?
Looking for a place in or around Melbourne for around 50 college age students for a semi-annual dinner. . Can be casual or mid-priced but obviously white tablecloths are not required....they ARE college kids!
Separate dining area not required but is a plus.
New Year's Eve Baltimore Inner Harbor Early Dinner?
Thank you all for your suggestions. I will check into all of them. And thanks ronandaim for the reminder about the Circulator. We had actually brought that up in a discussion about NYE but I forgot about it until you mentioned it again.
New Year's Eve Baltimore Inner Harbor Early Dinner?
We are trying to do NYE on a budget and are fortunate enough to have received an overnight room at the Inner Harbor as a gift. Plan is to park the car, have an early dinner and chill out at the hotel until fireworks time.
Looking for a casual budget-friendly (around $20 pp, no alchohol) within walking distance.

What exactly is comfort food?
Comfort foods are things that make you feel better for the nostalgic feeling they give you whether that be a taste, a smell, or a feeling from the past.
I recently put MY comfort food feelings onto my son who had moved away to college and emailed me to report that he had a sore throat and was not feeling well. I sent hm a box with chicken soup, microwave mac and cheese (he doesnt have a stove) and animal crackers...among other things like cough drops and lip balm. I think he 'got' the chicken soup and mac and cheese but asked about the animal crackers. "Is that what you eat when you are sick?" My response, no...but I thought you would like them, they are beach shapes and you are near the beach.
I guess you can't change comfort foods.
Gross Holiday Foods You Put Up WIth?
Shredded carrot 'slaw' with mayonnaise, raisins and pineapple tidbits. Yuck.
Recommendations for Melbourne please
Going down in two weeks (from Maryland) to get my son set up at Florida Tech. Already have River Rocks (Docks) and Meg O'Malleys on my list.
Any other ideas for fun and funky daytime lunches with my son and maybe a night or two with my better half.....preferable laid back and casual with great food? Live music at night is a plus but not into loud bar scenes.
Thanks.
Melbourne FL. Chart House Review
Thanks to both of you. River Rocks is one of the places I have on my list. I think I prefer the outdoor "Docks" menu.
Melbourne FL. Chart House Review
Thanks. I'm heading to Melbourne from Maryland and was looking for a current review. Your's pretty much mimics others I have read. Guess we'll take a pass on them.
Suggestions for Waldorf, MD
Check out Brasas or the mexican place next door to them. Both are on the left side of Route 301 going south just past the WalMart in a small strip center. Brasas has amaizing black beans and rice and the mexican restaurant is amazing cheap for the amount of food they give you (which is very good too!).
R&R Taqueria Serves Delicious Food
Dennis:
Please post when you do go. This sounds close enough that I could hit it during the week on my lunch hour.
Waldorf Md. " Here I Come!"
Lefty's Barbecue on the north end of town is a must-visit. I also suggest Brasas Grill, a bit further down on Route 301 and recommend the Lomo Saltado. Next door to Brasas is what appears to be a hole in the wall Mexican joint but they can't be beat. Their food is great, prices cheap and portions are HUGE.
Recently moved form Bethesda to Jessup/Savage, where are the chow spots?
Excellent suggestion bmore!
KFC Double Down? For Real?
I stand corrected. Following the link given above, the description reads:
This one-of-a-kind sandwich features two thick and juicy boneless white meat chicken filets (Original RecipeĀ® or Grilled), two pieces of bacon, two melted slices of Monterey Jack and pepper jack cheese and Colonel's Sauce.
32 grams of fat. No kidding!
KFC Double Down? For Real?
The ad said this is coming April 12th. Appears to be two breaded chicken breasts with bacon, cheese and mustard (?) sandwiched inside. In other words, a week's worth of cholesterol in one sitting.
My son thinks it's an April Fools Day prank. Anyone else heard of this yet?
Good place in D.C. proper to watch TV?
Damon's is a good choice for this event. I would also suggest WOW Cafe and Wingery if there is one close enough for you. I went to one once and there are TVs at every booth that you can change channel/volume at will. There are even TVs in the restrooms, for what that's worth. Good prices on beverages and appetizers during the early evening hours.

Corned Beef at Traders Joes - questions
The corned beef that is 7.99 a pound is already cooked. All you have to do is heat and eat. The uncooked corned beef is selling for 4.99 a pound.
McDonald's sweet chili sauce ... just make a McEggroll, will ya
Interesting. Back in the day when I ate the McNuggets (and me and the ex were BIG fans of them), we would get the S&S sauce and the mustard sauce and mix them together.
Houstons in Rockville Closing!!!
It's at the end of Snowden River Parkway that runs into Route 100. Former Bennigan's location right there on the corner.
Cheesy Gordita Crunch
I heard a radio ad for this on the way to work one day and craved it all the way till noon. Not saying I would ever have it again, but I did not take away the sweet taste that the OP is talking about.
The Simple Things that cost $5 or less with / without coupon for quick fixes. What's yours?
Second this one, with extra sauce thank you!
Their small chili is pretty good too if you add a packet of hot sauce to it.
TJ's Greenwheat Freekeh - where to find elsewhere?
I understand that this has been discontinued at TJ's, so if your store still has some, you might want to stock up.
Trader Joes Hummus
I've tried them all. Original, Roasted Red Pepper, Spicy, and Cilantro and Jalapeno. My favorite was the Spicy although the Original was fine was well.
What's your favorite 'Value Menu' item from the fast food restaurants?
I agree with that. A very filling meal that's easy on the calories and fat as well as the wallet.
