I have definitely found a menu and a homepage in the past, but like you, only have a Facebook page coming up. The website used to be www.russellhousetaverncambridge.com. I thought the problem was maybe the iphone, but it's not working on a regular computer either. That's a little annoying! Sorry!

Nice dinner in theater district? What's new? What's good?

Jump over to Charles Street and try Avila. Haven't had a bad experience yet. Their amuse bouche is always interesting and exciting. They have a nice wine list. The food, service and ambiance are always perfect.

What is the superlative taco and where to find it in the Boston area?

I started going to Angela's when it first opened--basically a hole in the wall place with DELICIOUS and CHEAPLY authentic mexican food. I went back once about 3 years ago and the prices were higher and it was more "restauranty." How is it these days? Thinking about taking my out of state boyfriend there, but don't want to hype it up incredibly if it's changed.

I would definitely try Russel House Tavern. The food is mostly innovative--and not "taverny" at all. I suppose it's tavern fare spiced up a bit. They make many of their own mixers for drinks, and have a lengthy and interesting cocktail menu. Try Burdick's hot chocolate for dessert if the weather cools down again!

Portland, ME--Fore Street, Hugo's or 555

My boyfriend and I will be visiting Portland, ME next weekend, and I can't decide where to make a reservation for Saturday night. I LOVE the idea of Fore St., but noticed that the reviews are a bit mixed as of late. I've heard great things about the other two, also. I would certainly choose Hugo's for the 2 for 1 6 course tasting menu, but my boyfriend doesn't eat fish (and I'd be nervous a few courses would be fish--Portland being a fisherman's town and all). He eats all other seafood (and everything else for that matter), but can't stomach fish.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Figs

Also try Wilson Farm in Lexington. They may have some or may be able to order them for you (if it isn't too late?!?)

Red Velvet Cupcakes in Boston?

Sweet in Boston (2 spots) and Cambridge (Harvard) have amazing Red Velvet Cupcakes. I'm not sure if they're making them for the winter season so check their menu online, but they have delicious cupcakes!

Cozy restaurant in Framingham??

Hello!

I am looking for a cozy restaurant in Framingham. I am meeting a good friend I haven't seen in years, and we'd like to find a somewhat quietish restaurant (although we'll be dining on a Thurs. night, so many places will probably be quiet) with nice decor and a warm, cozy atmosphere (read: big booths, a fireplace maybe, etc.). Is there anything like that in the Framingham area, or am I asking too much?

Any help would be great as I really don't know the Framingham area well at all!

Cheers!

A bit untraditional graduation--restaurant recommendation

Just so everyone knows--we decided to try Piccolo Nido in the North End, and were very, very pleased. Everything was homemade (pasta!!) and fresh! Pino, the owner, was a wonderful attribute to dinner. He has some amazing stories that he shared with us, and he was very accomodating. He prefaced the meal with "If you don't see something on the menu that is appealing, we can make you anything you want as long as we have the ingredients." All in all, it was a very delightful experience, and I highly recommend Pino's restaurant!

A bit untraditional graduation--restaurant recommendation

I suppose American/Steak/Italian are safe bets. There are no food allergies or vegetarians, and I would prefer to stay in the Boston area (although not necessarily downtown).

I don't love the North End--find it overrated and overpriced, but his family is coming in from Jersey and CT so it might not be a bad idea.

Thanks for your suggestions--I will certainly check them out. And of course, I'm open to many more!

A bit untraditional graduation--restaurant recommendation

Just to give a little background--my boyfriend is graduating from the BAC (located on Newbury Street). The reason I titled this "untraditional" is because he's 32 (not 21!). I'm looking for a place to take his family for dinner after graduation. There will be 7 of us in total. I'd like to find a place with great food at a reasonable price. His parent's may decide to pay for dinner, but I don't want to make reservations at a place that has exorbitant prices, and then they still feel obligated to pay. It doesn't matter where the restaurant is located, just as long as it's is a bit sophisticated and has great food. Any rec's would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Quaint, quiet restaurant close to Franklin Street in Boston

I have a very old friend coming into town who I haven't seen in years. We have a lot of catching up to do. He is staying at The Langham hotel on Franklin Street. I'm meeting him downtown for dinner on Monday night and we were hoping to find a nice quaint restaurant to have dinner. We don't want to be rushed, want good food, and middle of the road prices. Any ideas?!?!?

Favorite steakhouse in Boston...

My boyfriend is turning 30. We are going out for a "birthday date" a week after his birthday and I want to bring him to a place he will enjoy. He's not into fancy dancy restaurants that server minute size portions and he loves steak. I thought my best bet would be a steakhouse. I don't want a chain like Morton's or Ruth's Chris. How's Bonfire? What are some of your favorites? Price is not really an issue, but I want great food, great service and good portions, etc.

Thanks!!

Anniversary Dinner this weekend in CT--New Haven, Fairfield, and surrounding areas

I need some suggestions--we're celebrating our anniversary this weekend and would like something nice. American/seafood/steakhouse/italian type places would be great, but any of your favorites would be spectacular. Nothing over the top pricey, please and anything with a great view is a plus!

Thanks bunches!

Burlington, MA Eats

Cafe Escadrille is not sushi nor asian, but it has pretty great food. Also, while I hate to recommend restaurants that I haven't eaten at, there's a new fusion restaurant that opened about a year ago called The Ginger Pad-An Asian Bistro that I've been dying to try. I've read a few reviews and it sounds pretty good (website-www.gingerpad.com). The Ginger Pad is in the Wayside Commons along with quite a few other restaurants. Hope that's helpful.

Boston Restaurant Week--March

I participated in restaurant week last year both during the winter and during the summer. We went to Meritage and Tangerino's. Both meals were exquisite. I would like to try another restaurant in March. What are your favorites and why?

Favorite restaurants near Hartford (or surrounding areas)

It's my parent's anniversary tomorrow and my sister and I want to take them out to dinner this weekend to celebrate. We were hoping to find a great restaurant in the Hartford/Southington/Litchfield, CT (or surrounding area--we are from the Terryville/Bristol area--so anywhere within a half hour drive) area. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I currently live in the Boston area and am not up to date on CT restaurants.

Thanks for your time!!

Simple but delicious places for anti-fancy mom?

Taq. Cancun on Sumner St. in Eastie is amazing for Salvadorean/Mexican food. Right off the Maverick T-stop. They have delicious bean and cheese pupusas!

Favorite seafood restaurant...

I have two friends coming to visit the first weekend in October and they mentioned they wanted to eat seafood. I tend to stay away from seafood restaurants in the area, because I feel like most of them are overpriced for the quality. I truly dislike Legal. Can anyone give some other suggestions? The best place would be one with delicious food using fresh, local ingredients, but all suggestions are welcome. The more the better.

Thanks!

Lunch for 10, reasonably priced, near North Station, Gov't Center, Beacon Hill etc.

I work in Charlestown and am in charge of finding a place to have lunch on Wednesday for 10 colleagues of mine. I was thinking a good price range would be approximately 15-18 dollar entrees (obviously setting aside more for drinks, apps, dessert etc.). It doesn't have to be "fancy" but it has to be "yummy." I don't care what kind of food (italian, indian, mexican, american etc.), as long as the food is great! I've found a few...Avila, Grotto, Bambara. Beacon Hill Bistro, Dante, Lala Rokh, Antico Forno. Anybody have anything to say about those, or can you offer any other suggestions?

Thanks!!
