Table in Asheville
Yesterday my husband and I went to Table in downtown Asheville for lunch. It was our first time dining there. I had heard nothing, but great things about it. We were very underwhelmed. My husband had the pork sandwich and I had the lamb sandwich. Both were just ok. Nothing special or interesting. The lamb didn't really taste like lamb. The salad served with the sandwiches was delicious. Also, the service was acceptable, but not outstanding. I don't understand how it can receive such great reviews. Maybe it was just an off day or something.
Lobster or Dungeness Crab in Asheville/Hendersonville/Brevard
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Sounds like Greenville is the best bet for both lobster and crab.

Lobster or Dungeness Crab in Asheville/Hendersonville/Brevard
My birthday is in a couple of weeks and my husband asked what I want for my birthday dinner. Ideally, I'd love lobster or dungeness crab. My husband is thinking we should go to the Lobster Trap in Asheville. Based on reviews here, I'm not thrilled.
Any other ideas where to get lobster or dungeness crab? Doesn't need to be a restaurant, preparing it at home is fine too. I'm thinking Blue Water is our best bet. Thoughts?
Thanks much!

Palmyra Bistro in South Asheville
Yesterday, my husband and I finally tried Palmyra Bistro. It was very good. I had the falafel sandwich, which I'd say is the best in the area. The tahina sauce was especially delicious. We're from the SF Bay Area and judge falafel by the Falafel Drive-In, in San Jose, CA. That still is the best we've ever had.
My husband had the lamb gyros platter. He said it was good, but the tzatziki sauce was lacking. I tried it and agreed. We think it needed garlic or more of it (at least for our taste).
Overall, everything was very good and we definitely will go back and try other items.
Palmyra Bistro in South Asheville
Thanks Scirocco and dingey! I love middle eastern food and didn't even know about the bistro until I looked at the restaurant section in the "Blue Ridge Yellow Pages" or whatever it's called. I am thrilled they had an ad and menu! Hopefully this week next week I'll be able to try them for lunch.

Blue Water Seafood in Hendersonville, NC
Sorry it's taken me weeks to post this. We did go for their oyster night special ($8 dozen with purchase of an entree). It was awesome! The oysters were the best we have had in ages. I had the grilled tilapia with squash and lobster grits for my sides. Again, it was the best fish I've had in ages. Veggies were cooked perfectly and lobster grits were to die for! My husband had the crab cake sandwich, which he said was very good.
Everything was so good, we went back a week later for their mussel night ($15 all you can eat mussels), which was excellent!

Acropolis Restaurant on Pelham Rd in Greenville, SC
I'll preface this with a bit of background. My husband and I moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Western North Carolina 10 years ago. One thing we have missed is a decent to good Greek restaurant. There was one in Hendersonville NC when we first moved here, but seemed it closed shortly after. I'm not sure how long it had been in business, but it was authentic and very good. Anyway, on to today...
This afternoon my husband and I had lunch at the Acropolis Restaurant on Pelham Rd in Greenville, SC. It was surprisingly very good! We had the Spankopita as an appetizer which was served piping hot in a small casserole dish. It was so delicious we were tempted to order more and make a meal out of it. For our main course, we both had the Gyros sandwich, which also was delicious. It could have used a bit of onion and more tzatziki sauce though. My husband also thought it was good, but didn't think the meat tasted like lamb. I thought it did. Oh, it also came with french fries, which were crisp and tasty. However, we don't understand why Greek restaurants in this area serve french fries...The restaurant is very casual, but the service was excellent. Overall, it was the best Greek restaurant we have been to since the one 10 years ago that disappeared.
If you don't want fancy, but want good Greek food, I'd recommend the Acropolis.

New Indian Restaurant South Asheville?
This afternoon while driving on Hwy 25 in South Asheville, I noticed a new Indian restaurant is opening in Gerber Village, a couple doors up from Five Guys. Does anyone know anything about it?
Thanks!
Ling's Thai Cuisine in Laurel Park, NC
Yesterday we finally had lunch at Ling's. It was delicious! I had the Green Curry with Pork and my husband had the Stir Fried Garlic with Pork. They base the hot/spice level from 1-5. They said the curry was already a bit hot, so I chose 2, which was perfect. My husband chose 3, but it wasn't spicy enough for him, so they brought out a small container of the hot spice and let him add. Just a little bit did the trick.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back!

Scrumptious Cookies in Hendersonville/Brevard
This weekend I need to bring really good cookies as a gift to my friend's parents who live in Eastern, NC. I live in Etowah, so I can go with Brevard or Hendersonville. I won't have time to go to Asheville. Any thoughts? I know I like the cookies from Atlanta Bread Company and Fresh Market, but I am sure there are better.
TIA!
Any Other Jack-in-the-Box Lovers Out There?
I love it! My favorite is their chicken fajita pita. I also think they have the best onion rings of any other fast food joint.

Suwana's Thai Orchid - Asheville
Has anyone dined at Thai Orchid recently? My husband and I were going to have lunch there for the first time on Tuesday. Their sign said Open, but there was only one car in the parking lot, which we thought must belong to the staff. When we saw no diners during the weekday lunch hour, we thought it wasn't a good sign, so we skipped it.
