Visting this weekend, would like some recs

Much thanks to everyone and their suggestions. It's my second time visting and I get to see/do a little more each time. Next visit, though, I'm coming on my own and doing whatever the hell I want

I wasn't sure if Legends was still open or not, thought I had read a story about it closing but I guess I was wrong. I was so close last time but I was with an ex and the blues weren't her thing so I was out voted.

Howdy all, as the topics states, my mom and I will be in Chicago (A second time for me and a first for her) this weekend. Sadly due to a wedding we'll only have maybe 2 days to do anything. What I'd like to know is are there any decent Chicago-style pizza places, blues clubs, good bars (nice beer selection for me) in and/or around the Burnham hotel? I don't want to venture too far out of the loop area or the hotel because as I said, we won't have much time but a good meal will be appreciated. Please feel free to add any other recs you might have. We'll eat just about anything we don't have to catch. Thanks in advance.

Food prank -- pulled on you or by you

I work in a kitchen, and we have one of those pre-made chocolate molten cakes. You stick it on a plate, nuke it, toss some "vanilla" icre cream and magic shell on the ice cream. One day, we decided to freeze a "scoop" of our avacodo ranch, put it on the cake and prepared it in the regular way. We then left it in the pass-through and yelled "Dead cake in the window!"

Only took a few servers to figure out why the cake tasted so funny this time.

BBQ Query

Well, I was going to throw in a recommendation for Park Ave BBQ but it seems they're all on the east coast of FL. Sorry folks, but at least I did my research first. Tell us what you find in Orlando because I have reason to go over (and up) there every so often and always love to find good BBQ

No, I decided against wearing them back on the plane because all I need is security to find that I've got footwear with little resevoirs in them. Way too many red flags for me, thank you. My ass would probably still be sitting in the Palm Beach airport while being detained for "questioning"

This topic might be way past its prime, but I feel like adding to it. For those who have friends and/or family that also would like a flask but you like to give interesting gifts; might I recommend some flask sandals?

I bought these recently on vacation it's a pretty nifty little thing. The flasks only carry about 3oz each, but with both sandals that'll give you 6oz total. Not too bad.

This is my summer of canned beer

I don't know if it's heresay or not, but how about Yuengling? I mean, there's better beers out there but there's certainly worse. Seems to me like a can would nice on a hot summer day.

Culinary School

First off, congrats on the desicion. Second, I agree with those recommending that you work in a kitchen first. I'm going that route myself. I took a kitchen job having never done it before and somewhere along the lines decided that I really wanted to do it for a living. At least now I know what I'm getting into. Good luck in NY, I'm an NYer too but I'm headed down to Philly for my education. Keep us updated.

Old school classic french

Le Cercle Rouge has never done me wrong. Given, I've only been there for lunch but it brought back memories of my last vacation in France. And if I recall the correctly, the waitsstaff did indeed have some French fellows.

Best bbq dine in, near the Loop?

Do not attend Taste if you are claustrophobic, either.

Fried pickles

I don't know if it's at all Heartland's, but I remember having them at their local by the South St. Seaport.
