Hello, Recent NY transplant to London here. I got hooked on Tkemali in Brooklyn where there were many sources, but have yet to find a good Georgian grocery in London. I've enquired at Georgian restaurants but drew blanks. Any tips? I'm in northeast London, but willing to travel. Cheers, Josh |

Int'l Dining Recs near London N16? Hi All, I've just relocated from NY to London and settled in the Stamford Hill area of North East London. I'm eager to start exploring good ethnic eats in the area and looking for pointers. From just looking around, the contenders seem to be Turkish, Caribbean and Polish, but am open to anything reasonably priced. Local recs are best since we have limited mobility, but anything around Stamford Hill, Stoke Newington, South Tottenham, Dalston would be great. Cheers, Josh |

Years ago, someone mentioned in passing that such a thing exists in Japan. I've confirmed that that's true and I've been searching for it here every since. Any leads in the NYC area? |

Not sure what your range (geography-wise) is, but I have become a big fan of Sushi Yama, at 268 Prospect Park West (not to be confused with nearby Sushi Yu), in Windsor Terrace. I was skeptical at first given that it often seemed quiet and is not Japanese-owned, but Sonny hires good chefs and the fish has been consistently excellent (one night the saba tasted a little old, but not severely so, and other nights it has been great). They often don't have certain things in stock, I suspect due to low demand, but especially given their prices, it's my new sushi default. |

Where to buy fresh seafood WAY downtown? I'm at work way downtown (Whitehall-ish) and want to pick up some sushi-grade tuna on the way back to Brooklyn tonight for a dinner party. Any thoughts on where - I don't know this area at all. Thanks! |
