Dim Sum at 'Re-Vamped' SPRING VILLA - A Huge Disappointment!!! Charles - price no restriction here so which one - Yangs or Casa Imperial...I'm heading there on Thurs with the wife. |

CN-S is absolutely useless to me and he (or any other reviewer for that matter) should only be relevant to anyone if his tastes align with yours. I'll be at Splendido in a couple of weeks. |

Dude - I'm impressed how many places you visited in two days. Fantastic. I assume this trip is food focused? |

Good Restaurants in Mississauga/T.O Brick House is a nice local spot, not worth a detour but decent pizza - not quite Neapolitan style but close to it. |
Do they exist? |

Jeff and Chef Nuit Opening A New Restaurant in the Fall I'm not sure which restaurant kitchen's they "control" but if gets beyond 2, the food will suffer. Superstar chefs struggle with multiple restaurants in a city, not sure how 2 well intentioned individuals will succeed. I wish them the best of luck, I do love Nuit's cooking/recipes. |

Hero Certified Burgers....What the $^%#!!!!! Really? This is what chowhound has devolved into? Different tastes for different folks why can't hounds leave it at that? It's one thing to criticize the food, but to criticize others for liking something that you do not; I don't understand that. |

T&T Supermarket - First Visit - Any "Must Trys"? Can anyone comment on the quality of the dumplings and/or a particular brand I should look out for? |
Right, right, I'm familiar with that place. Didn't even cross my mind. I will check it out. |
bumping this because I'm interested as well |

Bilan, the Somali restaurant in a relatively sketch part of town... |

Hubby and I are going for his birthday lunch to Le Café Michi - What should we order? Don't disagree or the Omakase |

Digital Temperature Reader uses, comments... For the home cook, a cooking thermometer is an absolute must, especially if you have young children. It lowers the risk of food borne illness while maintaining juiciness/texture for a variety of meats. This particular reader is useless as it only measures surface temp, whereas the real risk lies within the flesh. I suggest something like this: http://www.thermoworks.com/products/t... though expensive it is very accurate and will last near a lifetime. |

Guu'd news - reservations + lunch I happened to be there yesterday as well. Food is lovely but their bbq sauce is terrible. Instead of offering an "asian inspired" sauce, it tasted like generic crap from a bottle. The duck breast offering was completely ruined by it. |

Pizzeria Libretto - Awesome pizza!!! To each his own, I found QMP the closest to Napoli. I've tried Fabbrica and Libretto |

Thanks for the response everyone. I just find Torontonians tend to dress down to the occasion vs other establishments/societies around the world. Just my opinion. |
thanks |

Curiously for those who have dined here, what have you worn? What was the attire of other guests? |
that is HORRIFIC, I cannot imagine anything close to that happening at Splendido. |
why did you feel uncomfortable at the start of dinner? |
Thanks...I'm there in a couple of weeks, because of you. |

I agree with FT and Davwud. Not much to add other than the price point is a bit higher than most sandwich places (Tim's or Select) but the quality is better. I work close to one near Square one. Two sandwiches I enjoy are the Chipotle Chicken and Bacon as well as the Prime Rib and White Cheddar. |

Steaks in the West End - Medium Rare VS Bruno's VS ...? I would suggest you have a blind tasting (I did - twice) from the purveyors you cite - the results may surprise you. |
Does anyone know what happened to Kumai Sushi? [Mississauga] Indeed best memory of any server I've dealt with. |
I've only eaten there twice and I've ordered the same thing - the prime rib sandwich. Their fries are decent if you enjoy shoestring (McDonald's) style. |

It is imported from Iceland. As Estufarian alludes to we could have eaten different breeds (I'm 100% certain breed impacts cattle flavor, along with diet) or we have differing palates. My post was to communicate my "results" and to inform others of the availability so they can try for themselves, I don't doubt it tasted spectacular to you. |
I hope you post the results (with restaurant name - if permissible). |

Having just eaten Icelandic lamb, the bones are on my plate as I type, I find the flavor quite mild. My favorite is still Australian. For those interested Whole Foods Mississauga is selling Icelandic lamb for a seasonal period. |

Burger's Priest now only serves overcooked burgers! I believe it's an Ontario law to cook ground meat to 71degrees C. There was a recent discussion about food safety here: |
