Good Eats in Newcastle, NSW, australia
hey chowhounds,
i am making a huge 25 hour flight from ireland to australia for my brothers wedding. i am looking for all things edible and delicilous in this city just north of sydney.
i was looking for any good restaurants that do old, traditional, authenic and modern australian cuisine.
when i go on holiday, i set my self three targets to truely explore the cusine of that country and they are:
Experience the cuisine of the streets, i.e the street vendor food
The cuisine passed down from generation to generation or the old school, homely traditional australian food
Finally, being a young chef also wanting to learn new modern cuisines, i would like to experience the modern cuisine, that all the city chefs experiment with evry day in their restaurants.
in order to get a true feel and experience of a countries cuisine, i think you should taste the good, the great and the excellent of australia.
So if you have any suggestions, please help me
P.S: do you know of any farmers or food markets in newcastle city or surrounding hunter valley.
Thanks
