Work dinner near the Palmer House

Thanks so much for the suggestions and the advice on timing -- I didn't think about the theater rush. Italian two nights in a row works fine for me. I've made a reservation at Tesori. The menu looks great!

Ricette, The Gander, or ?

A follow-up. I ended up at Recette without my colleagues, but with my sister and nieces instead. They did a fabulous job of accommodating the kids (11 & 13) - making them cute little drinks and off the menu entrees. The health department happened in while we were dining - ugh! That slowed down the kitchen appreciably, but they were apologetic and really, what can you do? I would definitely return.

Work dinner near the Palmer House

Looking for a foodie place with veggie options near the Palmer House Hilton. Quiet enough to hold a conversation with colleagues is a plus! We're at 312 Chicago the night before. Any suggestions?

Ricette, The Gander, or ?

Three business colleagues from the left coast looking for a quiet place for a week day dinner - we need to be able to hear each other talk. One doesn't eat, except to pick at greens, the other two of us are foodies. I've been looking at Ricette or The Gander. Preference or other suggestions?

Woodland

Flying into woodland for a meeting tomorrow. Any suggestions for dinner? It looks like the tazzina bistro is closed. We cold drive into Sacramento, if necessary.

New Restraurants in NE Portland

I'm getting together with a couple of friends next week and am looking for something new in NE. Any thoughts about Lolo on Alberta? The reviews on other sites are very mixed. I noticed there is a new restaurant open across the street from Perry's on Fremont, but wasn't able to check out the menu - any thoughts? We're wide open in terms of types of food or price. Fife is my favorite at the moment, but we all need to try something new every once in a while!

San Fran weekend

I'm headed to San Fran with my mom for a long weekend and am looking for suggestions. I have reservations at Slanted Door (sunday) and Kokkari (Friday), but have one more open night. . . . any suggestions? I've been to Kokkari before, but not in the last year. Any opinions about it? Suggestions for a Saturday night Italian place with a decent wine list? More casual than formal is preferred, i.e., dress code. We're staying at the Algonquin near fisherman's warf, but are up for cabbing or walking. Thanks in advance!
