Bacar or Chaya Brasserie?

Thank you!

Bacar or Chaya Brasserie?

Which one to pick? I have a friend coming to town for work and have been invited to a corporate dinner. I can choose to go to the Bacar dinner or the Chaya Brasserie dinner.

I'm torn! I have been to Chaya and liked it - but thought it seemed a little unfriendly and cold. I have not been to Bacar but have heard mixed things.

Can anyone help me decide?

Thanks!

Italian restaurant in Evanston

Can anyone recommend a good Italian restaurant in Evanston? My price range is in the mid-$20's range for a main course. If you know of a place or can recommend a past discussion topic, please let me know! Thanks.

Good oyster/seafood restaurants in Montreal?

These options are a great start. I called up Delfino, and while they don't have plateaux or oysters, it seems like they have great fish options, which I'll definitely keep in mind. Au Pied de Cochon does sound fabulous as well. Given the description, the prices sound commenserate for the quality, as noted above. Thanks again for the suggestions. If you have any more, please let me know!

Good oyster/seafood restaurants in Montreal?

I'm visiting Montreal for the first time and am interested in finding a restaurant that offers great fresh seafood - such as oysters or even a plateau de fruit de mer. Does anyone have any good suggestions for fairly priced places?

On a separate note (and posting), thanks to all who recommended pre-fix dinners! I will certainly try them out.

Good Pre-fix Dinners in Montreal?

Thanks for the great suggestions!

Good Pre-fix Dinners in Montreal?

Sorry for the confusion! I'm just looking for restaurants that generally offer the appetizer, main course, and dessert deal for one fixed price. La Chronique is a little out of my price range. La Brunoise sounds like a good choice. If anyone has any other ideas, perhaps around $45 or below, that'd be great! Thanks!

Good Pre-fix Dinners in Montreal?

I used to live in Paris and now am in Chicago. I love how in both cities you can find great restaurants with reasonabley priced pre-fix menus. Can anyone recommend some restaurants that will hit the spot and a well-priced, high quality pre-fix?

Thanks!

Quebec Restaurant Recommendations

I'm visiting Montreal for the first time and am looking for some authentic restaurants. I'd prefer relatively nice, upscale restaurants though I don't need the most expensive spots in town. Could anyone send me some recommendations along with information on price points? Thanks very much.

Carnivale Restaurant?

I've heard good things about Carnivale Restaurant. Is it worth trying for someone's birthday? And if so, can anyone recommend some good dishes? Thanks!

Tell me about my Paris Rest. Selections......

I just discovered Les Papilles on my last trip to Paris. It's wonderful! Know ahead of time though that you don't choose what you order. You get a set "menu du jour." The four course menu (for under 30 euros) will definitely have me back the next time I'm in town.

Where to eat in Paris on a Sunday?

I second L'Ardoise. Very good food and reasonabley priced. You could also try La Maison Chardenoux in the 11th if you're looking for an off the beaten path place. No pre-fix but a hidden gem.

Best cupcakes in town?

If you're up north, Deerfields Bakery (not surprisingly in Deerfield) has delicious cupcakes. My friend claims they're even better than Magnolia (a big statement I know).....

Good Butcher in Chicago?

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I had a party for some close friends on St. Patrick's Day and got the meat at Gepperths. The meat was a little pricey, but I have to admit that it was delicious. I'll try Paulina next. When I'm up north (which is often), I'll try some of the others too. Thanks again.

Good Butcher in Chicago?

I'm looking for a reasonably priced good butcher but have come across only pricey or underwhelming places. Can anyone suggest a reputable place?

Monday Restaurant Specials

Hi - I'm new to this group but am very excited to have found it. Marche on West Randolph has a phenomenal pre-fix deal. Three-course open menu for $25 - both on Mondays and on Wednesdays. La Sardine, sister restaurant to Bouchon, has the same Tuesday night deal but with a slightly different ambiance not surprisingly.
