Keeping kosher--vegetable knives, cutting boards, and rolling out dough
Keeping some things pareve is easier, especially if you don't eat meat as often. Also realize that you don't need a duplicate of everything just for Passover. You will only need basics to get you through a week. I have been told (although I would double-check this with a Rabbi) that glassware is always pareve and can be used as either meat or dairy as long as they are thouroughly cleaned in between uses. Laying down wax paper or some sort of barrier is an easy way to make a surface kosher for either use as well. I also agree with pothead that you won't need a big carving knife or something like that for dairy. Probably get a good carving knife for meat, a pareve chopping knife for veggies, and something sharp enough to slice fish and you'll be fine.
Farmers Markets in or near Atlanta
the Dekalb Farmers Market on Ponce is one of my favorite places in the world! I love it there. However, Buskuit is right... it's not a traditional "farmer's" market, it's really more of an international grocery store. But it's got everything from fresh meat and live seafood to boxed dried spices and fresh veggies from around the world. They also have a great hot bar and bakery that are super cheap and yummy!
Good food in Chattanooga, TN?
Thanks guys! Also, I was wondering if there were good brunch places for Sunday morning?
Good food in Chattanooga, TN?
My mother and I are planning a weekend in Chattanooga for my birthday (the 18th of this month). What are some good places to eat there that aren't too expensive? We're very open minded about food... love experimental or international dining. Any suggestions?
PS--my mom cannot eat gluten.
