Anybody know how to get hold of Uruguayan grappamiel(e) short of flying to Uruguay?

Eden Center

I will be in D.C. soon, and I was wondering if there are any recommendations for the best Vietnamese restaurant in the Eden center complex? Anything with a French influence?

Thanks,

Lobster east of Bar Harbor

Thanks for the info!

Lobster east of Bar Harbor

I'm going to be in Bar Harbor this summer. Is it worth taking a drive further down east to find better prices on lobster rolls, clam shacks, etc?

Can I survive a move form Manhattan to Pittsburgh?

I have lived in Pittsburgh all my life, and the food here has finally gotten to the point that you can get pretty good food and ingredients. I manage Penzeys spices in the Strip district. Stop in when you get here and my staff or myself will point you in the right direction!

Hi all,

I'm doing a driving tour through North and South Carolina looking for interesting and fun food shopping neighborhoods. Places like the Strip District in Pittsburgh, the Italian Market in Philly and Kensington Market in Toronto. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Who knew that Log Cabin, Mrs Butterworth, etc, syrups do not contain actual maple syrup?

One the ingredients used for imitation maple syrup is fenugreek. Odd, but true.

Interesting shopping areas in American cities

I'm looking for interesting food streets in American cities. The kind of multi-ethnic places that have cheese shops, Asian grocerys, wine shops, etc. all within range. The kind of places that can be called a foodie heaven. Not restaurants so much as food shopping. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Frank

Food shopping in Raleigh Durham, Chapel Hill

I am looking in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area for a great food shopping neighborhood. The kind of place where you can buy great cheese, cross the street and find a good fishmonger or butcher, go down a few stores and find maybe a Chinese grocery. Any suggestions?
