Sesuit Harbor Cafe

We had dinner recently at the Sesuit Harbor Cafe for the first time this summer. While the lobster roll is still very good and had large chunks of lobster, we all agreed that the serving was smaller, had more mayonaise, and included celery which we don't recall being in the lobster roll last year. Looks like an effort to give less for the same price. My husband had the fish and chips which he thinks are top notch, but he also thought that the portion was smaller.

New for 2011 on Cape Cod?

Have been to both Fin and Summer Stock. Thought Fin was as good as or better than Brewster Fish House when the chef/owner of Fin was chef at Brewster Fish--which is to say:very very good. Even better, Fin takes reservations. Al in all I'd rate it as one of the best on Cape.
Summer Stock is not in the same category as Fin but I found the menu interesting and varied with good price points. My husband and I both liked what we ordered. Both are welcome additions to the Dennis and midCape dining scene We'll be going back to both often.

Summer Stock in Dennis

Had dinner at Summer Shack last night and loved it--better than its predecessor, Center Stage Not haute cuisine but wonderfully varied menu and price points. My husband loved the shortribs and I loved the cinnamon dusted salmon over mashed sweet potatoes with black beans. Service was excellent. Only slight downside was high noise level. I'm delighted to have Summer Shack in Dennis.

Dinner in Savannah/lunch in Beaufort

Since posting the above inquiry, I have been in Beaufort. I had lunch at the Southern Graces Bistro in the Beaufort Inn (recently opened for lunch). it was just what I was looking for--delicious low -country food in a lovely setting. Other recommended Beaufort restaurants were not open for lunch and the ones that were only had a smattering of low country food.

Charleston Low Country Recommendations

I was in Charleston last week and had dinner at Husk. I think the chef/owner was recently nominated for a James Beard award. in any event, I loved everything about the restaurant--food, decor, service. It emphasized local (southeast) ingredients. Last year when I was in Charleston I ate at Peninsula Grill which I also think if fabulous and at Tristan which was wonderful as well. Of the three, I like Husk best because of the locavore emphasis.

Dinner in Savannah/lunch in Beaufort

No one has mentioned Sapphire Grille. I was there five years ago. Is it still good? How does it compare to Local 11 Ten, Noble Fare, Pink House, and Elizabeth

Dinner in Savannah/lunch in Beaufort

Sue and LaLa, any restaurants in Savannah you like better than Elizabeth's and Pink House?

Dinner in Savannah/lunch in Beaufort

Going to be in Beaufort at end of March and Savannah at end of April. I'm looking for an interesting place for lunch in Beaufort and some suggestions for the best restaurants in Savannah for dinner. Is Elizabeths on 37th still good. Which do you think is better--Elizabeth's or Pink House. What do you think is better or as good as either of those.

Birthday cake for Brown Student!!!

Try Whole Foods. Cakes there are very good and whole foods might deliver.

Cape Cod Chowhounds: Dennis versus Harwich

We ate at Ember for the first (and only) time a few weeks ago. The wings were fabulous as were the salads but we were disappointed by the pizza. Crispy crust can be great, but not burned, crispy crust. I had a pizza with white sauce but the sauce was gluey and tasted as if the flour hadn't been cooked enough. My husband had a standard pizza with red sauce and found the red sauce too spicy for his taste. may go back though because we loved the wings and salad; I'd give the pizza another try.

RI female owned restaurants

CAV in Providence is, I believe, owned by a woman. the Village Restaurant (African) in Pawtucket is owned by a woman. Of course, Al Forno is owned by a husband and wife team.

Tea Rooms on Cape Cod

Molly's in Falmouth is OK. Kinda cute--serves bagged tea although it is good bagged tea. The Tea Shoppe in Mashpee Commons is quite cute and has a nice menu for tea and lunch although it too uses bagged tea. It also has a children's tea. Optimist Cafe on 6A in Yarmouthport serves "high" tea trhoughout the day. Bee and Blossom in Hyannis is a gift shop/flower shop with a few tables but the tea service, although limited, is nice. Dunbar, I think, is the best followed by Tea Shoppe, Molly's, Bee and Blossom and Optimist Cafe.

Cape Cod breakfast recs.....Sagamore bridge to ~Dennis?? - moved from Boston board

I am surprised that no one has yet mentioned The Red Cottage on Old Bass River Road in South Dennis (25 minutes past the Sagamore Bridge--Take Exit 9A, turn right onto Main Street and then right onto Old Bass River Road). The Red Cottage has a fabulous breakfast--breakfast, not brunch--with many whole grain and healthy offerings and real maple syrup (but you have to request it and the charge is $1).

Best restaurants in Lower Cape

We had dinner at Chillingsworth Bistro last night. Everything we ordered was very good and the service was excellent.

Providence saturday lunch/dinner

I like Siena on Federal Hill for italian. For lunch try Venda Ravioli on Federal Hill--small number of tables inside and more outside if weather is OK.

Fried Clams on Cape Cod

We have been quite satisfied with The Oyster Company. Comparing it with Ocean House is like comparing apples and oranges--Ocean House has a more varied menu.

Cape Cod Seafood Market

That's easy. Go to Swan River Fish Market on Lower County Road right in Dennisport. I have rarely been disappointed there.

Lyric in Yarmouthport

Just had dinner at Lyric. Service was excellent. Menu met my criteria of having a number of things I would like to order. My salad of shittake mushrooms with asparagus was very good. My husband had the quail appetizer and thought it was excellent. I had a lobster with buccatini pasta which was good, but not transcendant. Dessert menu was limited--some good choices, but not especially exciting. In some ways, I liked Abbicci's menu better but in other ways I like Lyric better. We'll go back. I hope Lyric does well. That kind of restaurant between Dennis and Hyannis is a good thing.

Impudent Oyster, Chatham (Cape Cod)

I had lunch at Impudent Oyster two weeks ago. it was as good as ever. I had steamers which were better than the ones I made myself several days later. A friend had fried clams which were also excellent. My brother had the basic mussels and he loved them. As others have said, the Impudent Oyster is consistently good.

Japanese Rest. near Brewster, Cape Cod

I think Inaho is top notch and could hold its own anywhere on the East Coast. I like it much better than Misaki.

Center Stage Cafe in Dennis

Answering by own question, I found out today that Center Stage Cafe has indeed closed.

Seeking genuine Italian in Providence

I always liked L'Osteria in Cranston but haven't been there recently. I also like Siena on Federal Hill and Zooma although they are pricier than Casa Christine.

Center Stage Cafe in Dennis

I tried to call Center Stage Cage in Dennis tonight several times. Each time the phone rang and rang and no one answered. Has it closed?

Amandine Patisserie Hyannis

Did Amandine Patisserie in Hyannis close? Website seems to be gone and telephone disconnected.

Just thought of a place for lunch in Chatham--Impudent Oyster-fabulous mussels and sandwiches.

Grumpy's--see above is on 6A in Dennism but I think Red Cottage is far far better. It is on Main Street in South Dennis

cape cod suggestions(open now)

Here are my picks for the best restaurants on the Cape:
In Dennis--Gracie's Table-a tapas style restaurant
In Dennis-Blue Moon Cafe
In Yarmouth-Abbicci-upscale italian
In Orleans-Abba-Thai/Israeli
In Orleans-Nauset Beach Club-upscale Italian

Most of the above restaurants are probably open only for dinner however. If you want a terrific breakfast spot try The Red Cottage in South Dennis.

A lot of Cape restaurants haven't opened yet for the season
