Heard about what it was on a blog, and now wondering if there is a place in NYC where I could find it? |

Read about this hot, Mexican beverage somewhere, really curious to try it! |

I've heard tales of those guys, delivering seltzer in the traditional seltzer bottle like the milk man. However I don't think they exist anymore. However you might have luck investing in something like this http://www.amazon.com/iSi-Siphon-Brus... Which is what I assume the seltzer man would have been using. |

Starbucks sucks, but I stil go there Hmm, I tend to find that when I offer just plain old coffee, it is much quicker. If I have a craving for Starbucks, and don't want to wait on the line, I just order the "tall coffee of the day." Usually that gets made quickly by whoever is behind the counter, and I have it by the time my order is done. |

Tastykake and other Pennsylvanian Goodies. Thanks for the link, Dave, will check the Duane Reades and will try to find time to try 99 Miles to Philly. |

Tastykake and other Pennsylvanian Goodies. Thanks for letting me know? Manhattan CVS, or outer boroughs? |

Tastykake and other Pennsylvanian Goodies. Signed up for an international snack swap and my partner is a Pennsylvanian living abroad. She has asked specifically for Tastykake and Herr's. I know some stores stock them, and that I've certainly seen them around, but I'm not exactly sure which stores do. Does anyone know? |

I know it is a bit on the touristy side, but I love the Cuban place in the seaport! Don't know the name of it, but was there about six months ago and was pleasantly surprised. |

Thanks, will try to remember that the next time I'm in the area! Lexinton and 28th :-) |

New Dulce De Leche Coffee Starbucks [moved from General Chowhounding Topics] They discontinued the chantico drinking chocolate last year, I mourned the day and still feel depressed over the loss. Although the chocolate place on St. Marks makes something which is adequate, it isn't quite as good as chantico! |

Have some crazy baking ideas involving roses. Where can I get rose water, and candied rose petals? |

Help! moving to Great/Little Neck Also the restaurant part of Mazurs itself isn't that bad, like them a bit better than Deli King. While they don't serve the big dessert plate, I tend to find the food superior. |

Help! moving to Great/Little Neck What is good in Great Neck? Mangia Bene, way up Middle Neck Road, but best Southern Italian food in town. The all inclusive dinners are not bad for the price you pay. Scobee, and Seven Seas are reasonably good diners, Scobee I recommend the turkey burger, Seven Seas, the chopped turkey steak dinner. Both have above average diner fare. Harvest Buffet, can be loads of fun the first times you try it, while they have all the mainstays of the typical Chinese buffets, they also have some things you usually have to go to Flushing to get! I've always found the sushi good, and if you look at the back by the desserts, they have an excellent tapioca/taro soup. Don't forget the unlimited bubble tea. Greek Isles on Northern Boulevard I usually find very good, usually go for the gyros, but end up getting something else off the menu. For good Indian, Glenn Oaks, Santoor on Union Turnpike, in the shopping center with the Burlington Coat Factory and McDonalds. While I've been let down by the sunday buffet they are excellent for an evening meal. |

Thai in Great Neck (and GN dining in general) Great Neck offers terrific restaurants, only other place I can say is better is Garden City, there are a few interesting places there. Panchos has good food, but I will admit that I grew up in GN, and had family and friends who for a period of time insisted on eating there once per week. While the food is excellent, I'm simply bored with the place! These days if I go for Mexican, I want to see tortilla soup and a good mole on the menu. Love Wild Ginger. Like Daruma, but have had some not so pleasant experiences with the service, I also don't like the seating there, it is usually too close together, leading to awkward situations. I spent four years in a collegetown, so I see your perspective about wanting an Indian, Thai or Vietnamese place in Great Neck, I would love that as well. Breathing a sigh of relief about Entre, will admit that I'm in Little Neck now, and rarely have a chance to venture into town. |

Desperatly Seeking Sushi...in NE Queens/NW Nassau The Japanese restaurant in the shopping center where Waldbaums is has an excellent "Great Neck Roll," costs a lot, but satisfies the craving for sushi. |

N.West Nassau County- Chow-Worthy? There are also some good places in Eastern Queens! Marbella on Northern Boulevard is nice for casual Spanish food, don't forget the Sangria. Harvest Buffet on Northern Boulevard is a lot more than a simple chinese buffet, they have some pretty interesting Korean and Chinese dishes that I have only seen in Flushing and Chinatown. Greek Isles on Northern in Little Neck has always impressed me, always go when I have a gyro craving, but end up ordering something else. Last time I had what was essentially pot roast, with a twist of lemon. The diners around also tend to be fairly impressive. Love the "turkey chopped steak," special at Seven Seas. Scobee does an excellent turkey burger. |

N.West Nassau County- Chow-Worthy? Best Italian in Great Neck, now that Pulcinella is no longer around, it would be Mangia Bene! |

Thai in Great Neck (and GN dining in general) I've read that making it in Great Neck is just as hard as making it in Manhattan. Problem with Great Neck is that the rents on the restaurants, especially around Middle Neck Road, are sky high. Because of this people open up places, and if they are not an immediate success, they close as soon as the lease runs out. That is also why most of the restaurants that open up are so high end, and tend to be some type of Asian fusion. That is the "in cuisine" these days." I don't think it is because the population of Great Neck is "averse to different cuisines." Also before you condemn Great Neck, what other areas of Long Island have an array of cuisines which are not directly correlated to the ethnicity of the people around? New Hyde Park has an excellent array of South Asian restaurants, but that area has a large South Asian population. From Flushing to the Nassau boarder, Nassau Boulevard is loaded with Korean restaurants, but those are mostly frequented by the local population. Come to think of it Great Neck isn't that bad, there is the fancy Greek restaurant on Great Neck Road, a few fusion places which slant towards Thai, and Pancho's for Tex Mex. However I will admit I would like to see a bit more. I would love a nice Vietnamese restaurant, a casual take out Thai place would be excellent. However, with the rents they charge I don't know if that is happening anytime soon. I will admit I was happy to see Entre pop up, although I'm not sure it was still there, it was nice to be able to satisfy my bubble tea fix without having to venture to Flushing Main Steet. |

Nothing local that I know about, I just bought it off the net because I was curious to try it. |

Agree, I don't like cheese on anything, tried ordering a panini sans cheese, they couldn't make it. |
|

Yes, but no, I may have thrown a few cans out, but I haven't thrown out the two cases they shipped yet. I guess I'm not the only one in the NY area ordering Cheerwine. Also the Cheerwine I bought was of the diet variety. |
|

Ah, saw a TV show about them, was curious to try it and bought two cases of the diet variety from http://www.cheerwine.com. Interesting flavor, not as sweet as Dr. Browns, but different. |

Will third you on Waterzooi in Garden City. My favorite has always been the paella moule pot, bring a friend or two because one feeds about four. Also don't miss the sweet potato gnocci. |
