Kasteel Cru beer
I'm trying to find a store that sells this beer. Has anyone seen it locally? I'm in Framingham but don't mind driving to get it. I've googled and checked the website but there is not enough information.
Pretzel Rolls
I've bought them before in the self serve bakery department at Whole Foods in Framingham. Not sure where they get them from but they are delicious. They are also not sandwich sized but more like a dinner roll.
ideas for eating in Worcester?
I really enjoy the bar at Coral Seafood on Shrewsbury Street.
They have $5 bar menu and great wines by the glass. The blackened salmon over mixed greens has a delicious dressing and is worth the trip alone.

Framingham Center Restaurants?
I think when you head into a place expecting the worse you get what your looking for.
I've been in on several times and had the filet which was cooked perfectly and delicious. Another time I was in the mood for the general gaus and it was the tastiest , freshest I've ever had. Then I've had the Benedict pizza and it was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. It's also a hangout on the weekends with a more barlike atmosphere so maybe you could have just asked for the music to be turned down while you dined. You can't knock a place without even trying it. As for the valet the parking is pretty limited so it's a nice touch if the lot fills and you dont have to cross rte 126.
Washington Square Tavern: Any one notice a change?
The chef is now at The Abby as well as the bartender Damian.
They are co owners along with Gina Medaglia , the owner of Dalias which was replaced by The Abbey.
June openings and closings
I thought it may have been something to do with the lease. I did go on the Skipjacks website and the Natick location is already taken off the site. So if they were doing renovations "supposedly" then I would think they would put reopening soon rather then removing it. I have many other restaurants I can work at but some of the staff relied solely on this job to support families and I personally think leaving your employee's hanging like this is unacceptable.

Skipjacks in Natick closed last night. A friend of mine who worked there (I did as well) went by to get something and they had uhauls taking everything out of the store. No notice or anything.
Framingham/Natick restaurant recs??
(subs n more) I agree that they are trying very hard there and that is why I love to support them. They have their entire family in there on the weekends eating brunch, which btw looks great. Maybe he has to do the diverse menu because people are not buying enough of the Mediterranean foods and speaking of that the chicken fingers are really good there also! They actually taste like fresh tenderloins, which I don't usually eat but theirs are so good that I can't pass them up when my kids get them.

Natick Legal's does the 6 for 6 at the bar and if its after 6 , all you have to do is ask.

When I responded earlier I forgot to mention a place I get takeout from at least 4 times a month, it is called subs n more on Concord Street right across from the mill building in Saxonville. They have great gyro sandwiches and the best chicken kabob lunch with a salad, hummus and safron rice for 7 bucks. And I saw a reply about the new fresh choice market. I have been in and the produce was not the freshest I have seen. They had cheap selection of by the pound candy , nuts and various crackers that were well worth the visit but as far as anything looking fresh I did not see it. And I also think Skipjacks is a very reliable place for great seafood. The skipjacks swordfish is my favorite swordfish anywhere. Also you can't beat Legal's six for $6 at the bar. (oysters) You have to ask for it though.
Framingham/Natick restaurant recs??
J & M Diner on 126 is a great breakfast and lunch spot. I also love sitting at the bar at Imperial China for the chicken noodle soup, and one of Tina's special Mai Tai's. The sushi is also very good. And besides the bread at B & R they have great chocolate cherry , and molasses cookies. There is a new mexican place opening up on Rte 30 right by the post office also that I am looking forward to eating at.
Persimmons: best place to buy/order a case
I saw them at Whole Foods in Framingham today. As soon as you walk in the were in a case on the right with cut up fruits.
Best linguine and clams?
Had a great one for lunch at Rabias in the North End a couple weeks ago. It had pea's in it also which tasted delicious . And it was under 10 dollars.
Bubbala's Still Best Food in P-Town - The Bookstore and Restaurant Wellfleet
Went to Bubbala's last Friday night and had a great meal. The server Jim was great also. We have 2 girls 6 and 7 and he made us feel right at home. He even brought us dessert on the house so the kids kept busy while my husband and I enjoyed another drink. I had the tuna cooked to a perfect MR with brown rice and snap peas that tasted just as good served cold the next day. My 6 yr old had the steamers which were a huge portion and they were perfect and large in size with absolutely no sand. And the fish and chips were not like any I have had before. It tasted as though they had sesame or something in the batter which everyone loved. My husband had cod in parchment and he loved it also. All of that food plus drinks and an app came to 140. A great price for a memorable meal that we will not forget.
Another place we like to go to is the Squealing pig. Although we did not eat there this year (we just hung out and had some drinks) the food is always good and there is never a wait. We were there 3 nights in a row with kids in tow to just sit and people watch and have drinks in the front window and the waitress was awesome. We even got to sit with the bearded lady from bearded lady piercing one night!
Imitation Crab used in Sushi
Most places use Kani Kami. for the crab stick. I love it also and bought some through the sushi chef at my work. You could probably call a sushi place and find out where they buy it from. I like it because it breaks up into strings and has much more flavor then your average "seafood" sticks.
$1 oysters at legal
I eat at the Legals in Framingham after work at night and usually get there around 9. Some bartenders charge you full price and others charge the $1. I found that all you have to is ask and they are happy to give you the dollar per oyster deal.
mango nectar
I use dafruta mango liquid concentrate for anything from sauces to drinks. I buy it at Stop and Shop. I have tried others including the Goya nectars and this is far superior in taste.
Rabia's, Monica's, Euno, or Galleria 33?
I really like Rabia's and have always had a great meal there. The prices are very reasonable also. The one downside is that they rush you. So do not order dinner until after any app's or salads, that is unless you want a quick dinner.
Throwing a party! Need to stock up on wine. What should we get?
I agree with getting some Asti . It goes great with Mango puree for a refreshing afternoon drink. Also a great riesling that is not too sweet is Dr. Loosen. It usually goes for anywhere between 10-12 dollars. And a reasonable red is also Red Truck syrah which is about 10 dollars and has a great jammy taste to it.
Hudson/Marlborough Area Dining?
I went to a wine dinner at Chloe in Hudson and loved it. The rib eye was the best I have ever had. I do not know what they seasoned it with but it was delicious.
I also second Shiro although the decor is somewhat more like a run down house which I actually think it was at one time. The food is excellent as is the sushi. And Stephanie who does the sushi a couple nights is great.
Another spot you might look into is Coral Seafood. They are reasonably priced and have a great peppercorn tuna. You could also venture into Sudbury and try Bullfinches. It does not get the best reviews from some but I have been numerous times and loved it every time.
Match Burgers and Martinis
I am in the industry and am fully aware of how it works but if you are obviously getting double tipped and the "extra" money seems extraordinary then most people would do the right thing and let the customer know. And they did not do that. So I am just making sure people are aware.

My hubby and I stop in every once in a while for a martini when we are in the area. The martini's are great. The food not so great. And check the bill to make sure the tip is not added in. One time we went with 2 other couples and did not check and the server got double tipped as we later found out when calling to find out when the tip is added in, which was parties of 6 or more.
Casual Italian Restaurant
Jeans are acceptable attire at Rabia's in the North End on Salem Street. The chicken or veal Margherita is unbelievable and my hubby and friends love the chicken parm. You get great portions for lunch also at great prices.
Lambextravaganza!
I had a great lamb shank with a fig and merlot reduction at Dalias Bistro and Wine Bar in Brookline on Monday night. It is on their restaurant week menu and worth every penny.

My husband and I have the afternoon and evening to ourselves and we plan on going here around 9 or 10 to listen to the DJ. I need some ideas for before we go. I like good wine and food and he likes beer and dive bars with cheap food. So I need something in between the two, or at least a place with a decent wine list where he can relax and enjoy himself and I will be happy with my wine. Food is more an afterthought but if we are hungry I want something decent.
Burrito Bar at Whole Foods
I too agree about the bland food at Whole Foods, yet I see crowds there at lunchtime at the food bars. When I see something that looks good now I always ask for a sample first and then I decide.
Glad I decided not to try the fish taco's at the burrito bar!
Boston Hound in Metrowest: Stop the Chain Restaurant Madness
A good place to grab a burger for 5 bucks is at The Prospector in Marlboro. It's a dive bar and does not even have the name on the door. You get a lot of locals as well as Fidelity workers. They also have great steak tips for the same price.
It is on Broad St. and I the number is 508-485-9072 if you need directions.
Burritos in Metro West
I also love Tennessee's BBQ in Framingham. They have a great steak burrito. You could also try Canyon Cafe in Westboro. I have not tried their burrito's but I love the fish taco's and scallop and lobster enchilada's. You can find the menu online also.
