Whitby/Durham restaurants that don't suck As I have lived in Durham for a number of years I understand that finding good places to eat can be difficult. Here is a list of my favourtie places; ----- Diamonds Grill Restaurant |

We went to Simcoe Jazz on Simcoe Street North in Oshawa - wings were great!! They were rolled in sauce and then grilled for a few minutes so they didn't come out too goopy and mushy. And under $6 per pound!!! |

We went for lunch at Simcoe Jazz (used to be Chicago's) on Simcoe Street North and the food was great! They have a cook from Sri Lanka so I decided to try the Vindaloo chicken....sooo good! My boyfriend had wings which were also great and under $6 for a pound is a good deal. |

I found a place downtown Bowmanville that has great panninis. I think that it's called Herb n Essence on the main street (hwy 2 & scugog) They are a small place with a few tables that looks like it caters to lunch and breakfast crowd. Great prices & fresh! |

I would like to find a breakfast place that simply has real homefries...the kind that they have peeled & cooked, not frozen. I used to know of a great place that had them, but now I find them very greasy. Any ideas??? |

It's hard to find a nice place with a patio. The ones that I frequent would be Don Cherry's (new patio) and The Courtyard in Courtice. Any other suggestions??? |

Don Cherry's in Courtice has updated their patio. Nice comfy, high seating chairs & a cold beer...can't go wrong :) |

If you drive a few minutes east on Hwy #2, you will find a Don Cherry's Sports bar across the street from McDonalds in the Price Chopper plaza. BEST wings and nachos around. The prices are reasonable, a variety of menu items, food is always fresh & you will not leave hungry. They also have a kids/junior menu and have a few video games and a pool table if the kids get stir crazy at the table. |
