Indian Curry in Manhattan? Tastiest, thickest, greasiest
I know you said Manhattan and im not sure if this restaurant has a Manhattan location but in Jackson Heights, Queens, there is a restaurant called Kebab King and the curry you described fits the description of their Chicken Makhni. Its not the usual Punjabi style recipe you see at most restaurants. Perhaps they have a location in Manhattan?
Sunnyside Salads
Ive searched the area for salads and unfortunately I came up short... didnt find any. I ended up ordering a salad from NY Style eats.. theyre ok.
Chinese Islamic Restaurant?? [moved from Manhattan board]

Singas Famous Pizza is opening in Sunnyside
No clue why it is but it started out over 10 years ago as a lil shop in Elmhurst... Indians flocked to it and then it started to pop up around every major Indian shopping hub - Edison, Jackson Heights, Jersey City, etc because the owners saw how South Asians liked it so much. Walk into Pathmark on Northern Blvd and you'll see the clientele is mostly South Asian.
They only sell personal pan pizza's...no slices.
Singas Famous Pizza is opening in Sunnyside
They just put up the awning today. Its on 44th Street and 48th Ave? Its at the cross section of where Greenpoint intersects, right across Gabriellas... Is Singas liked on Chowhound? Its popular among the South Asian population.

Diwali in Jackson Heights
Yup thats true. It was very mixed at first, but it seems most Indian "hindu" businesses moved out to the suburbs... Its basically a microcosm of the immigration flow into the country. More Pakistani's and Bangaldeshi's are coming in, therefore they have bought up stores in Jackson Heights...The Indians that came in the 70's/80's have moved out to the burbs.
pizza in sunnyside?
I grew up with Rosarios as well! I too remember him. I remember when the Pizza's were 95 cents and they had a jukebox in the back. I also went to PS 11... what year did you graduate? I graduated in 1986... darn that was a while ago.
As for Pizza's in the nabe - Between Maribella and Gabriella's - I prefer Gabriella's although Maribella's seems more popular.
best supermarkets in sunnyside?
I agree - Stop n Shop is great - its fresh and clean.
How are Jackson Hole Burgers?
damn, here I thought it was the best burger in NYC. I guess I should try these other places before coming to this judgement. The burger is big and greasy/juicy. I personally like them and enjoy them. I'll try the other places mentioned.
Anyone have a good lamb curry recipe?
