Sandwiches / picnic food near Concordia
Might be able to find stuff at La Panthere Verte (falafel, salads) or the Frigo Vert on Mackay above DeMaisonneuve.... Or pick up a Lammajoun (sp?) sandwich at Arrouch on Guy. There is also a decent grocery store (Mourelatos) and few blocks west on St-Catherine where you can get some fresh fruit and stuff too...
Downtown donuts?
YES! this is a good suggestion. They have three doughnuts on a stick for like $2 -delicious!
Sunchokes or Jerusalem artichokes
They usually have them at Rock Montana on Sherbrooke/Harvard(?) - they had some yesterday...
Korean - 2012 update?
My favourite bibimbap is still at Kagopa on St-Jacques next to Classy carwash.
Best kimchi and pajun is at Hwang Kum on Sherbrooke W, near Honeymartin.
I've never been a fan of Masion Bulgogi on Sherbrooke, but some people like it.
As for BBQ - i saw a place in Chinatown 2 that advertises all you can eat for pretty cheap (on the south side near Kazu). I've recently tired the BBQ at Chez Hwang on upper Lachine -it was decent and all you can eat for about $20/$25, no veggies though. They do serve BBQ with vegs at the Golf Simulator Korean restaurant (former Peel Pub on St-Jacques).
The abysmal Seoul BBQ on Cavendish has switched sides of the street recently - i'm might try out the new place soon; the old location/ food was gross, and i'm hoping the've upped their game given the increase in competition in NDG
Saturday Night Group Dinner For 12
I second some of the thoughts already voiced here...La Salle A Manger is fine in terms of size/atmosphere and you would likely not be too loud and bothersome -places like Lemeac or Laloux i think might be too small.
The thing about LSAM is that if you've just been to Joe Beef or ADPC, it's really a step down. DNA on the other hand is amazing and could easily accommodate a group of twelve -there are different spaces in the restaurant each with its own vibe so, if you do go that route, discuss over the phone where you should sit...
The Dominion could also be very cool - the food is relaxed and the place is stunning and has a great vibe. you are also right downtown, in case you guys decide to partake in *ahem* usual bachelor party activities...
Azym sheet
Isn't a sort of eatable super thin wafer thing -what is it made out of (rice?) I have never seen any..there are a few places around town that make their own nougat (i think i saw a place on L'Epicerie once, but i can't remember the name). Maybe call them and ask...
Best Chinese in NDG
Nope.
NDG is the black hole of good restaurants (and coffee)...odd since there is so much money + yuppies in the neighbourhood....
Where can I find Noisella?
Not sure if they carry that exact kind, but the Italian Pantry on Monkland has different brands of gianduja.
Resto Nora Gray?
There are two seatings -this was stated on the phone while reserving and really as soon as we sat down to eat- that we had to be a out of there by a certain time. Yes, this is customary but i'm not sure it had to be so explicitly stated (usually they can pace the meal and signal its end more appropriately, methinks). In any case, if you are 8 and want to linger then book for the second seating which is i think 8:30-9 pm+
group opinion of Le Bremner
Comptoir Charcuterie is open on mondays - that place is really good + nice fun ambiance. would go there in a heartbeat instead of Bremner...
Openings in 2012
Korean BBQ place on Cavendish just below Sherbrooke is slated to open...on the opposite side of the current awful Korean place.
Yangtze on Van Horne claimed by fire Sunday night
Ha! thanks SnackHappy! I thought the place that burned down had re-opened..and a bunch of replies were condensed...
Yangtze on Van Horne claimed by fire Sunday night
This is a looooong thread and I'm not sure it has been mentioned yet, but the Tchang Kiang on Sherbrooke in NDG that closed last year has a sign up saying "Tchang Kiang par/by the Yangtze". Does any one know if it's the old owners?!

Resto for persnickety diner
DNA and Nora Gray are both enjoyable -food and ambiance-wise.
Festive New Year's Eve Dinner
Comptoir is having a nice NYE supper - i think it's a "best of" what they have served during 2011...
Dinner for a party of 8? (Joe Beef too small!) Recos please?
I will second La Salle a Manger -though not technically French (but still as French as JB and APDC). Also look at Le Filet which is good and has a nice vibe. My hunch is that given your first two options, that Club Chasse et Peche might be a bitt too stuffy for you as would Europea by far.

Need lunch recs for weekday for very important client
i would second this recommendation - DNA has great food and appropriate setting for business - but according to their website they don't serve lunch. How about Graziella? Toque and 400 coups are also good choices.
Resto Nora Gray?
I've been as well, and yes it's noisy (also a big beef of MCLortie- see this week's La Presse review). Maybe it's because i went to the first seating, but still, i was not super put off by it. Food was great - nice carefully thought out dishes though no really wild food combinations ( this is a plus for some, a minus for others). I do like a nice fun place to eat; this place was bit of a scene though - from hipsters to wealthy urban debutantes...to be expected i guess when a new place is getting that much buzz.
APDC or Joe Beef or Les Deux Singes
Never been to that monkey place...
But I would choose Joe Beef - I know some people think it's a bit overrated/ overpriced, but i'm a bit over APDC -too heavy. Plus with the cookbook out i'm sure JB are aiming to impress. Atmosphere-wise those two are pretty much the same.

Ganges Restaurant - Sherbrook West in NDG
We sometimes order from there (the portions are bigger -or seem to be) than if you eat in. I've been there one too many times -unsatisfied with the time it took to get the food. It's pretty greasy though -but tasty. Also, i need a sofa nearby after eating that food -puts me right to sleep!
Looking for private party location in montreal.
How about tacos? The people at Grumman have a nice big loft and a liquor license ( and delicious food!)
Tall order - 18 for lunch around McGill
How about Le Grand Comptoir ? - 2 blocks from McGill and some solid french mid-priced fair..

nostalgia
I totally understand this post -no Harvey's doesn't make THE BEST burger but still, that's not what the OP is looking for..so here are my humble suggestions:
Big orange for a julep
Snowdon Deli for smoked meat, soup and old people watching
Fressers down the street on Decarie for other assorted (take out) fare, schnitzel, danishes,
Chalet BBQ for chicken
Where to find an awesome banana split?
They make a really good one at Bilboquet - the use real everything -raspberry sauce, chocolate sauce, whipped cream. Not too pricey either ($7). There is one on Bernard and one on Sherbrooke/ Victoria

Where to purchase Israeli couscous in Montreal
The home brand is really gross and doesn't cook well. Also, FYI they call it Jerusalem couscous...
Restaurant Openings in 2011
I've not tasted the food but for the last few weeks it's been these guys who have been serving fare outside of the Italian Pantry. Based on their twitter feed/FB I would award them the "trying too hard" award - calling themselves a food truck when, um, they don't have a food truck, bacon/proc belly overload...
