New to Nashville...ethnic? off the beaten path?

I must second the votes for Kien Giang and Korea House. I love the shrimp and pork pancake at KG.

We have a week in St. Augustine and are looking for a mix of fine and casual dining.

I went for the first time on Tuesday. It was really great. The chef/owner is American, but has traveled extensively in Mexico and always learned a great deal from Latin coworkers. I was really impressed by the way he took a lot of the very talented Mexican cooks that were working in American restaurants and now they're cooking great authentic Mexican food. I respect that.

Nashville reccos for VD for travelers?

I hope you enjoyed everything Thursday night. Sorry I couln't come out and say Hi, but we all enjoyed cooking for such a great crowd. I hope you return to enjoy a slightly different style and service. Only slightly, though, as Kim and I have been equal collaborators since the beginning.

Vietnamese food in Nashville

I wnt to Kien Giang yesterday and it seems the same as it has been for years. Spring rolls, shrimp and pork pancake with a stack of leaf lettuce and mint for dipping, pho #3 with the tendon. Also there's a poboy with meatball that's good.

Ice Cream in Nashville

Actually, a new ice cream shop has opened up at 5 Points in East Nashville. It's called Pied Piper and Jenny Piper makes all of her ice cream in the store. It's next to Beyond the Edge on 11'th St.
