Food at or near Birchmere
i will have to disagree with the reviews on Los Tios. Not only is the food excellent, but so is the service. I have never waited for a refill on chips or drink, and their appetizers are to die for!
Nice Dinner, Bethesda area
Thanks for all your input! I know my grandparents love O'Donnells, and so do I. I will definitely re-think Persimmon (maybe I'll have my boyfriend take me there sometime). My BF also pointed out that my original post was sort of morbid/depressing, sorry if I offended anyone, I was just trying to support the point I was trying to make about finding the perfect restaurant for them.
thanks again!! :D
Nice Dinner, Bethesda area
My grandparents are convinced that they won't be around much longer, so every year for Christmas all they ask for are gift certificates to restaurants. My grandfather doesn't hear very well so he speaks very loudly. It's borderline inapprorpiate. They are very old fashioned and demand excellent service. (My grandmother always orders a martini, straight up, 2 ice cubes, no olives. If they get it wrong she will never return to that restaurant). Money is no object, but the resaurant will need to tolerate a senile old couple, who likes to sit down for a very long dinner. Any suggestions? From what I've seen, Persimmon is a great place, but will they tolerate my grandparents?
thanks, and HELP!! :)
Bloom groceries?
Bloom is Food Lion. I worked at Food Lion for 6 years, some of high school and all through college. They converted my store to a Bloom (South Riding, VA). Food Lions in higher income areas were converted to Bloom, to compete with stores like Giant, Harris Teeter, and Wegmans. In lower income areas they were converted to "Bottom Dollar Foods." Its like a scarlet letter if you ask me. That's off the topic, however. Bloom has basically the same stuff as Food Lion. They did increase some of the product lines in order to compete, and all of the stores got a nice makeover. It's a prettier place to shop, but like I said, it's basically still Food Lion.
Big bday dinner Alexandria area
I need to find a good place that can accomodate a large crowd (up to 20 ppl) in the Alexandria area. I don't care whether it's a chain or not, needs to be somewhat affordable, and take reservations. Suggestions would be appreciated!! :)
