Blackberry-Peach Cobbler with Sour Cream Biscuits

I made this for a barbecue this week and it was a hit. After everyone was stuffed full of barbecue chicken, corn and potato salad, people were going back for seconds on the cobbler. Excellent!

Italian Restaurant Rec in Calgary?

I had lunch at La Vita e Bella on Friday and was quite pleased with it. It's a small place, with excellent food and pleasant service. The veal cannelloni that I had was delicious and our waitress was a dead ringer for Olive Snook.

Green Beans with Shallots

Simple and delicious. It's a side dish, doesn't need to be fancy or complicated.

Lord Sandwich (Calgary) [moved from Canada board]

Haha. I've found that (when made right) their Greek sandwich is excellent. Spicy chicken breast (real, not sliced) with olive tapenade and shredded pepperoncini peppers. Sometimes they run out of the olives or peppers and then it's boring.

In fact, I just had the calabrese and provolone on baguette for lunch and it was excellent. Highly recommended.

Sobaten Lunch Buffet in Calgary?

I had lunch there a while back, no sushi, but the tempura and soba were very good. There was only one girl working that day and the restaurant was packed, so the service was criminally slow.
