Just moved to Camberwell [SE5], looking for recs [London]

Thanks for all the suggestions! Sounds like there's a lot in Brixton when I want to venture outside the neighbourhood but I have enough to choose from when I don't feel like remembering how to get home...

Just moved to Camberwell [SE5], looking for recs [London]

Hi All,

I'm a recently relocated Brooklynite to Camberwell for school, and I would love to know what's in the area. Of course being a student (and an international one), I'm on a budget. I'm sure there are some great ethnic options, but I'd like to know what's worth trying, and what to avoid. Any suggestions for lunch, take-away or good pubs with food is appreciated.

Thank you

chocolate chip muffins

Finding a good muffin that isn't overly sweet and oversized can be difficult. Where can I get a good classic chocolate chip muffin? It't too hot to bake them myself!

thanks

any good bakeries in hell's kitchen?

There is also the cupcake cafe, which is on 9th right across from Port Authority. While I'm not sure if you have to call ahead for cakes, they do have wonderfully decorated cupcakes. It's between 39th and 40th. http://www.cupcakecafe.com/

Best hot chocolate in the city?

With the trend of the $5 or even $8 cup of hot chocolate, I'm curious what people think is the top in the city. I've tried the City Bakery hot chocolate and Max Brenner and of course the standard Starbucks hot chocolate, but I'd like to hear about some other places to check out.

Breakfast/Brunch at Prime Burger?

Has anyone been for brunch or breakfast? I know its known for its burger, but its also a diner in an area with pretty slim pickings for decent breakfast places. Any opinions? Thanks!

Reasonable breakfast in midtown

does anybody have an opinion on the breakfast at prime burger? I know its known for its burgers, but it is a diner, with a good reputation for their pies...any thoughts? thanks!

Reasonable breakfast in midtown

i've heard good things about good enough to eat, but it really is out of our way. This will be a Saturday morning, so I can imagine the wait would be rather long.

Reasonable breakfast in midtown

I've got my parents coming down to visit in a couple of weeks and they're staying their first night in a midtown hotel. I'm looking for some recommendations for breakfast spots before we head over to MOMA. I'm looking for something along the way (or not too far from it). I believe the hotel is on 49th and 7th. I know how touristy and over priced this part of town can be, so and suggestions for resonably priced cafes or diners would be great.

thanks,

Friendly Bistro in the Village

My friend and her family are coming down for a visit and I said i would take them out for dinner one night. I'm looking for a bistro that's moderately priced, situated in the village as I don't think they'll manage to get down to that part of the city otherwise. (I believe they're staying in midtown). They don't like anything too exotic or sceney, which is why I think bistro food is pretty safe. I was thinking along the lines of Tartine, but that's where I took my friend the last time she visited. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
