Thanks, I will make note of that for future use.

Out of curiosity, I opened a recipe page in both Firefox and Explorer, and also on my husband's computer, and no report button appeared on any of them. I didn't even know there was supposed to be one!

I can't load recipe detail pages

Thanks! I had actually clicked on that thread but I only read the first post and decided it didn't apply. :)

I can't load recipe detail pages

I'm having the same problem.

What manual can opener do you like?

Everything is Better Topped with an Egg

Yes! Ramen noodles with a little bit of butter stirred in and an egg cracked on top. I think I just might have that for lunch today.

Quiznos vs. Subway

"Right in front of us on the "Burger board" was a chart on how to make the different sandwiches."

Hee.. reminds me of a story. A few years ago, my husband went to Wendy's for lunch. They had a new sandwich on the menu and he asked what was on it, and one of the items was "sauce." He asked what kind of sauce and was told again: "sauce." He said yes, but what kind of sauce? and the cashier walked away from him. She returned a few seconds later with the card that tells how to make the sandwich, and showed him- sure enough, it said "sauce."

Pie crust shields

My only complaint about the Mrs Anderson ones is that they don't quite fit my pie pans- the small ones are a hair too small and the large are just a bit too big- I need some right in between! Or some that are as big around as the large ones, but with a wider shield area.

Food Network Chefs

I like Giada, Michael Chiarello, Tyler, Alton and Ina. I can see why people find Rachael Ray annoying, but I don't mind her. Paula Deen's regular show is OK, but her "party" show makes me gag. The worst show, IMO, is that Quick Fix one with Robin Miller. At least Semi-Homemade has some comedic value!

eta: I really liked Nigella's show on the Style network and I love her cookbooks, but I can't really warm up to her current FN show.

Food Fight voting

From some of the comments it seems that this is some sort of "retaliation" for Chow's advertising on a gaming site? Weird.

I know they think they're spoiling all our fun, but I'm still interested to see who will win. Will there be test kitchen reviews of all the finalists? That would be cool. And, if nothing else, I've got a bunch of new recipes I want to try!

Although.. I do think it might be kind of amusing to see a Supertaster video of the mac-n-pocket. :D

Food Fight voting

Well, if you read the contest rules, the votes don't actually determine the winner. However, in future contests I think it would be good to make it so you can only vote once per day per computer.

How Important to You is Pronunciation? (vis-a-vis Food)

Hee! I have a friend who insists on calling creme brulee "creamy bully."

Good but relatively inexpensive coffee maker?

3rd the Cuisinart rec. I got mine at Costco for around $60, I think.

What are you serving for Thanksgiving dessert?

Our family has that too, only we call it "pumpkin pie cake." Mom will be making that and one of her famous lemon meringue pies, and I am planning to make creme brulee and probably an apple pie.

Halloween and Peanut Allergies

We get hardly any trick or treaters at our house, so I don't bother to buy a bag of candy. Instead, I just pass out bags of microwave popcorn. You wouldn't believe how excited some of the kids get about that!

Regional "food quirks"

Me too, and I got it from my Okie grandpa.

Best Philly Cheesesteak/KC Area??

OK now I am hungry for Grinders! I have only had their pizza but the cheesesteaks are sounding really good.

Regional "food quirks"

Oh my gosh, I haven't had calf fries for years! Now I want some- anyone know where I can get 'em around Kansas City?

What is Your Favorite Non-Foodie Thanksgiving Dish?

We always had KFC for Christmas Eve when I was growing up. My grandma (my dad's mom) was not exactly known for her cooking skills, so one year my aunt & uncle "volunteered" to pick up a bucket of chicken and the tradition began.. it wouldn't have been Christmas without that red-and-white bucket!

cooking for mixed (veggie/non-veggie) marriages

I make lasagna in 2 smaller dishes instead of one big one. Sausage goes in his, spinach in mine. Same goes for pizza- 2 small instead of 1 big, we each get our favorite toppings.

How common are food allergies and aversions- really?

Oh, that would be nice- he doesn't have a lot of trouble avoiding peanut products in his food, but he's had reactions to airborne particles (e.g. people opening peanut packets on airplanes). That's a bit harder to control.

How common are food allergies and aversions- really?

My husband is allergic to peanuts. He can eat tree nuts, but has developed a "better safe than sorry" attitude and avoids those as well. His allergy was seen as very uncommon when he was growing up, but nowadays it seems like peanut-allergic kids are everywhere- has there really been a huge increase, or are moms just raising a bigger fuss these days?

What foods do you HAVE to mail order?

Lately I've been having a hard time finding Sun Maid baking raisins in the grocery stores. I hope they haven't been discontinued! I just bought 24 packages from Amazon, that should last me a couple months at least.
