I buy the regular olive oil of the same california brand and use it in salads. i stocked up on two bottles of the garlic olive oil ... so far, i've used it on kale (to make kale chips) ... and i'm sure i'll figure out something else. it's really good!!

hey nevy,

thanks for the heads up!

do you recall what the size was for the perrier? big bottles?

also - have you used the chocolate chips before? i usually bake with callebaut callets ... but it's getting to be a pricey habit. :)

tks!!

thanks for pointing out the sahale nuts. i picked up a bag last night and it's taken all of my willpower to NOT eat the whole thing in one go. :)

i was at the etobicoke costco last night and it was the umpteenth visit in a row where they've been OUT of organic eggs. anyone else finding this? and anyone else finding they're better stocked elsewhere?

hey jayt90,

okay - i have to ask - how do you get away with using only 3 bottles of oil a year?

i have never seen the grapeseed oil ... i will have to keep my eyes open. thanks for letting me know about it. i use grapeseed whenever i'm cooking with my cast iron pans.

and i have the breville convection oven ... it's awesome.

i echo that, ylsf! i bought some organic honey once ... i swear, it got darker and funny tasting from the time i opened it. i brought it back and the lady behind the counter said that a bunch of people had brought that back in and had the same complaints! i was really surprised they took back an opened bottle of honey.

i had hake at a restaurant downtown a few years back ... it was delicious. i called a bunch of fishmongers and no one carried it. i didn't know it was at costco until a friend of mine bought a bag ... and came to the exact same conclusion. a bad buy. i guess i'll have to keep looking.

the one i saw on monday night was by 'rodelle' ... same brand as the vanilla beans. i've never bought anything from this brand so would be interested to know if anyone else might know?

i also like the manoucher breads that show up every once in a while in the travelling road show events. they freeze well and are great for entertaining.

Me too! I've been getting friends to bring back bottles from France but this is a much more 'direct' option. :)

i noticed a jar of herbes de provence at the etobicoke costco last night. thought this was interesting as it's not a commonly stocked spice. anyone try it out yet?
