Dinner after Disneyland (outside the park)
Consider Park Avenue a couple miles away from Disneyland. Its a rat pack style steakhouse. We went on New Years Eve last last year. The place was packed and the service was excellent. Food was great.
ISO Turkey Tails
Anyone know where I can buy some turkey tails????? Really want some for this Thursday! Thanks.

Is the Edison happy hour still cooking?
Was there on Friday...their happy hour isn't nearly what it used to be.
It used to be that their drink menu was half off til 8pm, then they shortened it to 7pm, and now its only half off well drinks until 7pm.
Had a bourbon and ginger ale for $7 during happy hour. Not much of a deal.....
They still have the promotion on Thursdays and Fridays where you can have 1 drink at 35 cents, but its their choice, its usually a sweet thing. On the night I went they had $1 old fashions with woodford reserve bourbon (1 per customer).

ANNIVERSARY DINNER PARTY FOR 15 WITH DANCING???
Looking for a place where we can have dinner for about $30 a person, then follow that up with dancing at the same place?
A friend of mine is celebrating his wedding anniversary this Friday, and wants to eat and dance to salsa or top 40. They are in their mid 30's. They are looking for somewhere in the Pasadena, Glendale, Northeast LA area.
Need recs for LA Convention Center area
The Wood Spoon on 9th Street is quick cab ride away.
Gotta try the Pork Burger for lunch.
Hobson's Choice recently posted a review with pics http://nochoiceatall.blogspot.com/2008/07/woodspoon.html
bad lunch experience at Lot 1
truth be told i came away feeling satisfied for lunch and i tend to eat more than i should, lol
in size the baco id compare to maybe a six inch sub from subway??
Dinner for a Family of 4 in the Valley
Hi Chowhounds,
So I have 2 year old and 1 year old guys.....where should we go to dinner? I'm talking about 5 'oclock guys.................................
bad lunch experience at Lot 1
Totally agree with the salad portions. 1/4 cup sounds about right. And its not like the ingredients were so expensive to justify such a tiny portion. I ordered the pasta salad and it was really salty. I did enjoy my pork belly baco. The service was decent that day (last friday) we were out in an hour.
Lemonade Cafe in Downtown or WeHo
Had lunch at the downtown spot yesterday....their avocado salad is so darn good, simply made and so tasty. Their salads were excellent! The lemonades were decent the strawberry lemonade was pretty good. A nice healthy choice for lunch definitely going back.
Live Nudes & Lunch
Is it just me or does it always smell like fried chicken inside of Sams?
Wood Spoon, downtown (review)
I've only been for lunch (twice) and loved it. I know what you mean about the pot pie but I agree with Woolsey, if you do finish it all, you should be leaving full. The pork burger is fantastic too. And I also enjoyed being visited by the owner, she is sweet.
Highland Park - Mexican
I agree everything I've had at MY Taco is excellent. Love their carnitas...
breakfast burrito?
Josie's does do a great breakfast burro. Their BB's are a great hangover remedy as well! I usually call ahead from my parking lot and pick up my order on the way to the office, lol.
Best Happy Hour place to host mixer in Downtown LA
The Edison (2nd and Main) has lots of space and from 5pm to 8pm their drink menu is half off I believe. And generally you get a young professional crowd there.
Blue Velvet sucks for happy hour.
Any Bar recs in Downtown LA?
Library Bar (6th and Hope) also dark, not loud, and food from the neighboring Wolfgang Puck Express can be delivered to you in the bar.
Weiland's Brewery (1st and Central) not too loud and definitely not 'Hollywood scenery'
Eastside happy hours? (Los Feliz, Glendale, Atwater, etc.)
Especially on Wednesdays when the margaritas are $2.45, nachos are free, chips and salsa too
Whole Foods Burgers
The one in Glendale does as well...they looked good but I havent tried them yet...
What to eat in Highland Park???
Grew up in Highland Park so you'll be safe with these options....My Taco on York between Avenue 64 and Figueroa, El Huarache Azteca #1 at 5225 York Blvd. The newer places are pretty good too, like the York at Ave 50 and York and Martys on York and 51. HP wont be mistaken for a foodie's haven anytime soon, but you can still find some tasty meals here.
Marty's in Highland Park - Menu
Grew up in Highland Park, so I enjoy supporting the new businesses in the area, so it really angers me when I encounter snobbish attitude from these places. A couple of friends and I wanted to stay local so we headed over to Marty's. Buttttttttt I wasn't allowed in because I was wearing a cap!!! And unlike dean's post, the doorguys couldn't have been bigger jerks about it (well actually it was the blonde dude). I was wearing some decent looking CK jeans and a abercrombie and fitch jacket, bottom line is I didn’t go dressed like a bum. He said my sports attire wasn’t allowed. So I figured fine I'll take off my cap, but then he said my jacket wasn't suitable either! Maybe for the first time they could've let me slide and not given any attitude about it. Sorrrrrrrry for not knowing there was a dress code at Marty's (this is still York Blvd in Highland Park, right)? Give me a break!!! So my friends and I crossed the street and went to Johnny's. They didn't have any silly door dorks and for just opening, the space was nicely done. Attention Marty's people there are several bar options in the Highland Park/Eagle Rock area, so drop the wanna be Hollywood velvet rope attitude!!!
Best Nachos?
Totally agree with your take on King Torta, great torta's and the nachos are just as good with heaps of sour cream, guacamole, beans, cheese and your choice of meat.
BREAKFAST IN SAN CLEMENTE
I don't know if they have eggs benedict but, the Waffle Lady has a really sweet ambiance for breakfast. Its worth a try http://www.wafflelady.com/.
Turning 25!
Well last year I rented the private room at the Velvet Margarita Cantina on Cahuenga Blvd in Hollywood for my brother's birthday. You can seat up to about 20 for a four course meal. Here's the breakdown, its $100 a person, but the kicker is you have an open bar for everyone for three hours! The good stuff, no house brands. A DJ starts at about 9 on Friday and Saturdays. The place itself is really really nice, great for taking pictures for your bday. The food was good, but then again everyone was taking advantage of the open bar, if you guys like to drink you will definitely get your money's worth.
Larkin's?????
They aren't officially open but they do take dinner reservations for Friday and Saturday nights and brunch for Sunday. Sign up for their e-mail list on their site and you'll receive their invites to join them for dinner or brunch. http://www.larkinsjoint.com/
We had brunch a couple of Sunday's ago and the service was excellent. The food was ok. They had pancakes drenched in syrup that were extremely too sweet.
Hump day poll: Favorite Happy Hour w/food?
I agree with Androo on the purpose of what hh is. Weilands has a lively crowd too. The Library Bar has good drinks and you can order food from the Wolfgang Puck Express next door. And oh yeah you cant go wrong with Ciudad for hh, good music, good food, and really tasty drinks.
Liberty Grill downtown???
The food is eh, but I did enjoy the Mango Martini-
Skyy Infused with Fresh Mangos
