Anyone else think we should split Florida up into North/Central/South?

It really makes sense. Other boards like NY, Cali, even Texas have some division of area. Florida is a large state, and the way it's borders are, should lend to a dividing of the boards on here.

Even just a general South Florida (Palm Beach, Broward, Miami) and everything else would be a great help. Living in South Florida, I would pretty much travel anywhere in that category for food. It would also help with people visiting the boards, as others have mentioned.

Ft. Lauderdale Visit-Help!

Pretty sure one of the things Rustic Inn is famous for is their garlic crabs. Joe's Stone Crabs are know for their... stone crabs.

I agree with this. I live in South Florida, and I don't think to myself "hey I want to go eat at so and so in Naples this weekend..." however, I do think about going to Miami and Palm Beach for dinner.

Anyone else think we should split Florida up into North/Central/South?

I have several thoughts.

If all kept as one board, a regional designation pull down menu of 4-6 regions should be included.
1. Keys
2. South Florida
3. Central Florida
4. North Florida
5. Panhandle
6. West Coast (naples to tampa area)

HOWEVER, I would prefer the board be broken into say 4 regions (South, Central, North, and West Coast) with also a Best of Florida board.

The reason being that the local people who browse often don't really care about different parts (most people I feel). If they want to browse or check other regions of florida, well it's a simple click because it is already organized. This would be especially helpful if I knew I was taking a trip, say to Miami, and I wanted to find cuisine specifically there. All I would have to do is click South Florida, and everything is more or less in traveling distance. Would also make it easier on tourists.

The Best of Florida is for all the threads we currently have (Best Mexican, Best Taco or Best Fish Market) as examples.

Need Fancy Broward County Seafood Restaurant for 60th

Was wondering if anyone knows how Blue Moon Fish Co compares to say 3030

Need Fancy Broward County Seafood Restaurant for 60th

I've just been reading around, and and see it's almost done to perhaps 3030, Cero, and Cafe Maxx. Steak 954 looks good (for me at least), but I don't think it would be acceptable for my mom.

I also know the Dine Out is occurring right now, and thought perhaps my dad can just go to a couple of those with her, although I have a feeling that won't be good.

Need Fancy Broward County Seafood Restaurant for 60th

Nothing is too late until we actually have the dinner, but thanks for the consideration. My dad was indeed thinking Truluck's himself, but they proclaim they are a rather boisterous restaurant. Any piano playing, with a guy singing is out. My mom is picky, and one of the things she does not like is music (outside of classical) and dim lights. I don't know how she has survived in South Florida so long.

Keep the suggestions coming though please. The more the better.

Need Fancy Broward County Seafood Restaurant for 60th

Thanks for the tip. Not sure it has to be seafood specific, but that's what my dad was thinking since she turned down Casa D'Angelo. I don't know, I've always had very good meals there.

Need Fancy Broward County Seafood Restaurant for 60th

I know this is late notice, but restaurants don't change overnight. I'm sure some of you on here know the best seafood type restaurants in broward county, but mostly Ft. Lauderdale if possible. It's my mom's 60th, and she is expecting (and deserves) no lower than a four star restaurant ; ). Any recommendations as soon as possible. Her birthday is today, but we are looking at doing something as soon as possible (already made plans fell through).

Thanks in advance. Please, the best only. Money is of no concern. Wine needs to be available.

Looking for Las Vegas Steakhouses

Hey everyone, I'm heading to Las Vegas for my brother's bachelor party and Saturday night is the big dinner night. I'm looking for a great place to take 5 guys and enjoy a great steak. So far my research has taken me to these places:

1. N9NE
2. Charlie Palmer
3. Austin’s Steakhouse
4. Delmenico’s
5. Craftsteak
6. Strip House
7. SW Steakhouse
8. Vic and Anthonys
9. Lawry’s Prime Rib

Once again, I'm just looking for a place with a great atmosphere to take 5 guys and enjoy a great steak. Thanks for all your help.

Two Bills Seafood - Dania Beach

Does anyone know if the fish sold at these markets are farm raised or wild caught?

Good restaurants near Bank Atlantic Center?

It seems more of on the way, but truthfully it isn't terribly far. I would say 10 min. at most from BAC

When did Creolina's close?!

Anyone know if this place has re-opened? If so, has anyone tried it?

Marumi Sushi - Plantation/Broward

I was passing by this place the other day and I wanted to try it out. However, before I tried it out, I wanted to see if anyone out there has tried it and had any reviews. I did a quick search and didn't find anything.

Here is their site: http://www.marumisushi.com/

Good restaurants near Bank Atlantic Center?

Isn't there a P.F. Chang's there as well?

Non-chain restaurants in Sunrise?

I second Sunrise Pita & Grill

I get the lafa schwarma (not sure of the spelling), and I tell them to make it spicy and I trust them. I sometimes get the fries with friends, and the desserts are little tasty treats.

I live down here and I have to go try Udipi Cafe and Chef Carlin. (Been to Thai Thai, but prefer Suko Thai in Downtown Ft. Lauderdale)

Do all farmers markets in Florida stink?

I was really hoping one of you guys would mention a good Farmers Market. I am kind of surprised there is none in Davie. Whenever I travel through Davie, I see a bunch of local farms. I used to go pick strawberries as a kid at Batton Farms (Davie road south of Griffen). I also used to get really good fresh milkshakes there and fudge. They always had pretty good produce too, very fresh looking.

"Off the menu" favorites at Nobu?

What do you mean "secret dishes"

I am going there or Masa for my birthday, and always want to know more. I did see Salmon Kelp roll on the menu though

MASA vs. NOBU

I will be in NYC for my birthday coming up soon. I am a diehard sushi/japanese cuisine fan. I was wondering what people though comparing these two, as I can choose one of them only. I heard and keep reading that MASA only has a price fixed menu of $300-$600 per person (minus tax, tip, and drinks). My family isn't really a price fixed menu kind, we like to choose our own. I have been to BarMasa, and really enjoyed it. I haven't been to Nobu though.

If anyone can give me any more details if MASA isn't just a price fixed menu, that would be great. I would also like everyone's input as to which is better, and why of course.
