Replacing batteries Aerolatte milk frother, how?

Hi -

Need to replace batteries on my stainless Aerolatte milk frother. When I take off the silver end cap - I see a black plastic barrier with two hard silver prongs bent over onto the plastic. The instructions don't say how to replace batteries, and my email submitted on the Aerolatte site has gone unanswered, so far. Although the motor is supposed to last 5 years, I don't think these gizmos are that well putt together that I can just start taking parts a part, and hope to get it back together again. Thought better to ask first. Maybe when I remove the endcap, the plastic barrier should be removed in conunction with the endcap - and the batteries are beneath that?

Help would be appreciated from others who have changed batteries.

Japanese grocery, SS area, (Wheaton, Bethesda, Rockeville)?

Good idea Ookii - I think we will go in and order California Rolls.

Japanese grocery, SS area, (Wheaton, Bethesda, Rockeville)?

Actually - before getting any replies I ended up going to both Hinata Sushi on St. Elmo in Bethesda and Daruma in Bethesda (since I could reach both my Metro). The lady at Hinata was very helpful to me. She went around the grocery with me and pointed out each item I would need to make rolls; and even said don't buy this rice, it's too expensive. In addition Hinata had fresh imitation crab. The lady at Daruma was not as helpful and they had only frozen imitation crab. (Maybe the Japanese don't want imitation and they don't have a call to carry it as much). I think Hinata worked out very well. Now my daughter and I have to try our hand at making the rice and the rolls! Thank you.

Hi -

I want to try my hand at making California rolls; and then moving on to other rolls. I would like to find a good local source of ingredients and tools. Anyone have a recommendation for a Japanese grocery with fresh stuff and a helpful staff to start me out? Preferably in Silver Spring (but could range to Wheaton, Bethesda or Rockville).

Jamaican Food Places??

Just up the red line in Silver Spring is Negrill. I think there may be one in Bethesda as well, but am unsure. I know you said DC or NoVA, but a short subway ride will get you there.

Steel cut oatmeal

I saw your post about cooking steel cut oats in your rice cooker. Are you using the rice cooker's "porridge" setting? If not - can one set a non-porridge rice cooker to cook oatmeal. Either way - can one set how mushy or grainy the oatmeal comes out? This last is very important to me. Thanks.
