Tomato Paste in a Tube???
well, I just put the whole can contents into a small ziplock sandwich bag. then ... press out all the air and press flat. you can then break off any portion in the frozen state and use as needed.
Looking for Authentic (German) Stollen
I have been lucky with buying stollen at my neighborhood ALDI. it's made with persipan but quite good and sells for about 4.-. look along the with the breads. however, since they store breads and buns in 3 diff places, could be hard to find.
Any experience w Sabaidee, new Lao restaurant?
Saw this new place .... "Sabaidee" nice building, 5350 (?) N. Broadway. A new Lao restaurant located next to the supermarket.
Does anyone have anyexperience with it? Lao restaurants are rare in Chicago.
Thanks,
Berns
Does Metromix pick and chose reviews???
Some weeks ago I wrote a review of a new restaurant on the Chicago Tribune's Metromix and it was never posted. I actually took the time to e-mail them inquiring if they pick and chose. They said 'no' and mentioned it was a computer glitch.
Well, las week I posted a review for another restaurant, and, again ... no trace on Metromix. It goes without saying that I keep them brief, polite, concise, yet detailed enough to be of interest.
Just wondering if anyone else had similar experineces??
Berns
PS: I checked several other restaurants and some of the 'newest' postings go back to February and March.
Looking for Mexican supermarket instead of DELRAY
Yes, I was referring to the closed DelRay on Broadway (not Belmont) and Foster.
And many thanks for all the replies. Lots of good places to check out.
We are lucky to live in a city with so many rich and diverse choices when it comes to ethnic foods.

Looking for Mexican supermarket instead of DELRAY
Since my favorite Mexican (and international) supermarket Delray on Foster and Belmont has gone out of buisiness can anyone recommend a replacement for me? (Northside or not too far West)
Liked their Mexican cuts of meat and Mexcian groceries and general produce
thanks,
