Pensacola beer bars

Wisteria is literally a trailer on the side of the road.....not so much atmosphere here unless you are going for the trailer park happy hour.
Try HopJacks....I get burned out on the food but good selection of beer. Also, Ozone (best pizza in Pensacola) has a lot on tap. Have fun!

Global Grille is GREAT! Friends and I can spend all evening here. But don't waste your time at EAT!....I actually think they shut down now. Hop Jacks is good for beer...but I would chose to eat at Global Grille then walk across the street for a drink at Hop Jacks.

Someone else mentioned O'Briens and YES YES YES. Very good. Pricier...but worth it.

Def hit the popular McGuire's like listed on other replies. Fish House for seafood. (Don't do the beach...there really isn't great food out there)

Ozone - best pizza in town!
Dharma Blue - great food but kind of expensive
Mediterranean Plus - just re-opened at new locatin (9th and Creighton) SOOO excited they re-opened finally
Bagels Del Sol - Davis Hwy (not too far from I-10), try their salmon cream cheese, cucumber dill, or cheesecake cream cheese (for something sweet)
NY Deli - on Cervantes (might be called Scenic Hwy by here) good soup, sandwiches, and pizza
Horizon - (across the street and about a block down from NY Deli) sit on the outside seating for the best sushi in town
The Cheesecake Shoppe - (across from Horizon, next to Subway) Split a panini with someone then enjoy the dessert!!!

So Global Grille is my top. I have never been disappointed and when I want a nice dinner, great atmosphere, and an enjoyable glass of wine or martini...Global Grille is where me and the friends go. Jackson's is great for steak. I was really impressed. We hit it on a good night and got to enjoy the dining outside. Fish House is also a staple of Pensacola and Dharma Blue as well. Don't waste your time with EAT!...there is better in town. If you are on the east side for lunch try NY Deli on Cervantes or the Mediterranean Plus (I think this is re-locating) For dessert in this corner try Cheesecake Shoppe. She has some pretty good paninis for a light lunch but don't miss her cheesecake! Also located in the NE is O'Brien's Bistro (near Cordova Mall) This is a hidden treasure...especially for a special lunch or a nice dinner. The Brick Oven (9th Ave) is ok for pizza but I take all my friends who come visit and want pizza to Ozone (12th Ave) for anyone who hasn't been. thats enough from me for now :)

Cooking w/microwave

I just googled Trader Joe's in Albuquerque (this is where I will be and have NO clue about the area) and they have one in town! I am sooo excited! Definitely have to try your ideas out and let you know how they go! (and how the bf likes them)

Complete My Menu

LOVE LOVE LOVE the sweet potato french fries!
I would definitely do a bean of some sort if you don't like the sweet potato idea....and an apple crisp for dessert!

Actually we will be staying in a temporary living facility on a military base which doesn't allow for hot pots, small grills etc (although I will have to check on the toaster oven thing) As for cooking for a friend - which I receive all my pleasure doing so here at home...this move will place me in Albuquerque where I know NO ONE to cook for.
Thank you all for all of the responses though! They have totally helped out and are easing my fears of this whole move. (relaxation thru food....what a great way)

What should I bring to the office that's healthy?

I love the sweets! So when everyone else is bringing in cookies/brownies I have made a fruit pizza. It was a great hit...not AS healthy as just plain fruit but not as bad for you as the cookies/brownies. Easy to make little individual servings as well.

Hoegaarden [moved from the Los Angeles board]

I have to add a slice of orange to my Blue Moon (our fridge is never without it!...the beer)Beer is not the same without. If you are near a military base you can find these awesome beers!

Cooking w/microwave

Long story short..in the midst of a move I will be left with a fridge and microwave for about 2 months (like I said...long story). I am an avid cooker...can't stand eatting out. Anyone have any ideas besides sandwiches, salads, soups!!!

Worse comes to worse I might end up in an extended stay that may have a range top.....

fish tacos recipe please

I broil my fish. (don't like the fried ones). Like everyone said...white firm fish is best. Other than that...top w/what you want. I like lime/cabbage/salsa/sour cream :)

Fish cakes with canned fish ?

A male roommate of mine once made tuna cakes. Similar recipe as mentioned above...some chopped onions, a little lemon juice, some breadcrumbs, egg to bind, salt, pepper. Put in frying pan (I often use spray to coat the pan) This is great over a nice salad w/a vinegrette dressing to make it a little more moist. I have also used the canned salmon. For a young adult on a budget this recipe works out great...boyfriends seem to love it as well :) I have tried to mix it up a little and chop some green/red peppers to the mix as well as trying to add some corn one time. Honestly, add what you like the flavors of. But when I want something fast canned fish does the trick.

What's with Starbucks..... mild rant

I LOVE BK coffee! I would much have it over the house blend at Starbucks (although I like a good chai tea from Starbucks) BK coffee will definitely get my day started....or give me a quick pick me up for 1/2 the price and so much more the enjoyment.
--note..I am a Starbucks fan too!
