Hi, I am looking for a fun and interesting restaurant with terrific food (as the bday gal is a foodie) and that would also provide 10-20 guests with an experience....such as dancing, music, etc.
People have recommended Dar Maghreb, but I have read some worrisome reviews...
I would prefer to stay in the Hollywood and West Hollywood areas - but will drive out for something truly fantastic.
Live music would be a definite plus!

lunch near Loyola Law School?
Hi, I went to Loyola Law School for three years....I always had to drive off campus for lunch, there really wasn't anything walking distance. I frequently ate lunch at Phillipe's, La Taquiza by USC, El Jarrito, Yang Chow in Chinatown, Langer's, Papa Christos on Pico and Normandie, Grand Central Market, Angelique Cafe (http://www.angeliquecafe.com/), and Cassell's for hamburgers. Morton's downtown serves lunch and has a fantastic hamburger and a steak salad stacked with tomatoes and blue cheese. I would also have late lunches at various happy hours downtown - such as those at Ciudad and Nick and Stef's. I am sure more places will come to mind as the day goes on...There is a lot of good food to be eaten in the LLS vicinity!
Izakaya Honda Ya - Little Tokyo
I definitely prefer the Tustin Honda-Ya over the Little Tokyo branch. I think the food is much better over there...And I also like the atmosphere more. I have only been to the Little Tokyo outpost once, and it was just after they opened up there - so I am going to have to try again..

Dinner at Jitlada Thai Last Night...
No I don't think it was all spicy. The prawns with glass noodles were from the Southern menu were not spicy by themselves,but they came with a delicious, but very spicy sauce on the side. Also the sea bas wasn't really spicy.... I am sure you can request some dishes be prepared more mild...they were very nice and accommodating!!!
