Is Hop Kee the best cheap Chinese in NY?

I have had a few excellent dishes at New Chao Chow, 111 Mott. Very inexpensive. Anyone else have experiences there?

Monticello, NY

I'm not even sure if it's open any longer, but I have had great meals at La Mingotiere in Wurtsboro Hills.

Best brunch on Long Island?

Garden City Hotel has a really nice "grown up" brunch.

Thanks

NYC Hounds~First Visit to Chicago~HELP!

Being a fellow NYer, I'll comment here. I had a really good pizza at Due's. And I'm not a really big deep dish fan, but I enjoyed it. I would suggest brunch at Fronterra Grill. It's a great way to get a tatse of what Bayless can do. I also like Shaw's Crab House, if you like seafood.

Suntimes review of Bluprint was pretty middle of the road. Hard to get a true reading off of it.
Anyone try Sepia yet.

Fort Lauderdale suggestions

I have enjoyed Bistro Mezzaluna. I have also had some really great lunches at Max's on the Beach. Does anyone know if it's still there and do they offer that awesome lunch deal still?

New Yorkers coming to Chicago

Have you been to Topo? I would suggest going to Fronterra for brunch, different and very tasty.

NY eats suggestions???

For a really good chinese meal, try Congee Village, 100 Allen Street.
For a fun place for Italian, go to Puglia, 189 Hester Street. Then go to Caffe Palermo for the best cannolies in NY.

I'm going in September, have already been to Custom House, Topo, Frontera, G&G, and Shaws. I thought I was going to go to Sola, but their current menu doesnt do anything for me. The Aria menu looked very interesting.

Last minute recs, please?

For a great and different experience, try Congee Village, 100 Allen Street. Not your average tourist trap. It serves really good and authentic chinese food. And prices are unbelievably cheap.
I also like Pardo's, 92 7th avenue, a great place for Peruvian rotisserie chicken and other Peruvian dishes.
Make sure while youre in town, have some real NY pizza.

Bluprint

Anyone have thoughts on this place? Just looking for another option when I'm in town. I'm already going to Topo, Sola, and have already been to Custom House, G&G's, Shaws, Fronterra.

capital grill - been there?

Ive been to the NYC location and the Vegas location. I found both to be very consistent and good quality. Service was outstanding. Try the calamari for sure. The delmonico was very good, as good as any Ive had at some of the best steakhouses.

Palm Coast

Definitely Opus 39. I would also consider Purple Olive & Creekside. South Beach Grill is just up the road from Ginn, just south of 206.

Foodie bound for St. Augustine

IMHO, Osteens is a tourist nightmare. People line up around the building to wait in line for average food. Try Creekside or Saltwater Cowboys. They both have a nice atmosphere and good food. One of my most memorable meals was at Opus 39, just a few weeks ago. Great food, service and a pleasant experience. Mangos is a nice relaxed beachy type restaurant. The Purple Olive is another one of my favorites.
Let us know where you decided to venture.

waterfront dining long island

Try La Motta's in Port Washington. 20 minutes from Coliseum. They may have a website, not sure.

Quick, cheap eats in the Middletown, NY (Upstate) area--need last minute recs!

El Bandito for Mexican. Marios Island Cusine for Jamaican food.

Favorite Long Island Restaurants

I'm also in the Farmingdale area. Jump on the Northern State and go to Butterfields in Hauppage. Great flavorful food! Chef Jerry does some really interesting menus. I also enjoy Tellers in Islip when I'm in the mood for a good steak. Great atmosphere and service as well. Try the bone in rib eye, its like something out of the Flintstones. If youre looking for sushi, I would strongly suggest Sakura in Babylon. Fresh, tasty and a great value.

DiNics - Philly

Just go with the pulled pork, peppers and provolone. It is the ultimate. I also add the small pickeled pepper ringd, but thats just me. Just enjoy.
