Great food, private room, party of 12? Thanks. Other than Savona, any thoughts on non-Asian cuisine that will fit the bill? |

Great food, private room, party of 12? Looking for a place to hold a 75th birthday dinner in December. Would like a private room, and hoping to stay in the Western suburbs, if possible. Several foodies in the group, so really want to keep them happy!!!! Any and all suggestions appreciated. Thank you! |

Jenkintown area, Best of the Best? I think Mirna's is solid. Reliably good food, doesn't suffer the noise problem that the Blue Bell Mirna's does, varied menu, mostly reasonable prices. is there negative buzz about it? |

Jenkintown area, Best of the Best? I second Max and David's, but also think Mirna's Cafe is good for lunch. I'd skip 211 York in favor of either of the other two. |

Rec. for Reasonable and Good Caterer for Baby Naming in Burbs I've had great results using Curds and Whey for catering. It is the restaurant/catering operation directly behind the Barnes and Noble in Abington, next to Jules Pizza. Phone number is 215-886-2203. Davida is very flexible and I usually let her plan the menu, within whatever food limitations we have (no meat, for example). And the cold broccoli salad is FABULOUS!!!!! |

Salsa's Mexican Grill in montgomery mall Soooooooooooooooo embarrassing! Sorry - was getting all hot and bothered by the prospect of having Yalda Grill back... |

Salsa's Mexican Grill in montgomery mall I thought Yalda Grill had closed? Has it reopened? That would be great news! |

Miraku on Bethlehem Pike in Springhouse Closed? Umami Umami is very good. I don't know that it's any more pricey than say, Ooka, and the menu is pretty varied, including some Korean dishes (Bulgogi, for one). Service is very good. It's not a BYO. I'm not sure why it hasn't caught on more quickly. |

Miraku on Bethlehem Pike in Springhouse Closed? This is a loss, but we still love Fuji in the Whole Foods shopping center 5 minutes away from Miraku. Reasonable prices, great service, always fresh, and BYOB. |

Being "Taken Care of" vs having food placed in front of you... Your post gave me a chuckle. One of my pet peeves is when a server appears at the table at the beginning of a meal, announces his/her name, and that s/he will "be taking care of you tonight". DH and I are adults, and not ill or infirm, so I just find the expression to be silly and obsequious - and rarely true. I know, everyone's mileage varies, but for me, this one's right up there with "and are we having coffee/tea/dessert this evening?" Well, I am, but I have no idea about your plans... |

Had dinner at Massa last night. It's very nicely decorated, and the tables are spaced nicely, so it feels very uncrowded and relaxed. Mixed crowd - older couples, young families, and Mr. Mama and I (somewhere in between the two). Service was excellent. We were seated immediately (had a reservation, although may not have needed one - yet), our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, and didn't smother us with questions while we ate. The food was a limited success. For an appetizer, we had excellent mussels in a delicious marinara sauce, but very small portion for the price. We sopped up every last drop of sauce with the complimentary rolls. Caesar salad was good, but not special. I had the crabcake entree, which was out-of-this-world delicious - huge chunks of crabmeat, no breading, very delicately spiced, and came with a delicious tomato salad with balsamic dressing. Mr. Mama had the pork tenderloin, and was less enthusiastic. He reported that the meat was boring and dry. He thinks he should have ordered the Chourico sausage as his entree. A number of other diners were eating it, and it looked and smelled outrageously good. Lesson learned! Shared the Creme Brulee for dessert - very good. So good that we thought about going back after the movie to order another. But we resisted. We'll go back and try other menu items. It is nice to have a new spot in the area. |

Spending one night in downtown Ithaca while we do college touring. Looking for suggestions for a really good but not really expensive dinner - two families with teenage kids willing to eat almost anything! Thanks! |

Oops - my mistake. Thought it was Chester County. Still great food, though! |
|

Krazy Kats at the Inn at Montchanin in Chester County is also a nice dress-up option, with great food. And, maybe stay over at the Inn? ----- |

I hear raves about Moonstruck, which is just over the Montgomery County line in Fox Chase. I think it may be formal, but I'm not certain. |

Excellent suggestions by csdonald. One detail, though - when getting off the turnpike at the Fort Washington exit, just go straight ahead out of the toll booths to get onto Pennsylvania Ave. If you turn right, you'll end up on route 309 or in the office park. An additional choice is Zake's Cafe, for a great dinner. It's just past Cantina Feliz on the right on Bethlehem Pike. |

Has anyone been to Umami Umami in Dresher lately? There was a flurry of comments here when it first opened, including one that was oddly vague but glowing, and nothing since. The parking lot seems to be always almost empty. Is it still open? |

Sunday Breakfast/Brunch in Willow Grove/Ambler/Blue Bell/Conshy Area Zake's does take reservations. If the weather is nice, the newly renovated room in the front would be lovely for you. |

There's a Fresh Market on Welsh Road in Horsham. I buy all of my organic produce there, as well as fish and dairy products. |

It's getting close! Cantina Feliz Drove by the former Allison Two space in Fort Washington today - the sign for Cantina Feliz is up!!!! |

Lunch around 22nd and Delancey? The walk from Suburban Station to 22nd and Delancey isn't as bad as you might think. I did it for many years when my parents lived there. You'll find plenty of places to eat on Chestnut and Walnut Street between 15th and 22nd. DiBruno brothers is on Chestnut somewhere between 17th and 19th (don't remember the exact block). A CH favorite, Vic Sushi, is on Sansom Street between 20th and 21st. Also, Suburban Station just under the Comcast Center now has quite a few very good food choices. You'll find Chinese, Thai, Mexican, on the numbered streets as you make your way, as well as Marathon Grill and more than a few Panera's/Cosi's/etc. Enjoy your walk! |

Hibachi virgin here, need help.... Fuji in Montgomeryville is an option for Hibachi...I think it's less expensive than Ooka. It's just that Hibachi is, well...Hibachi. |

Need a Jenkintown caterer for group lunch I've used Curds and Whey several times for office functions and for private parties. Great food and very easy to work with. They are just off the Fairway, behind Jenkintown Barnes and Noble - same shopping center as Jules' Thin Crust. |

Hound-worthy restaurant near Monroeville? Looking for a good Saturday night restaurant in or near Monroeville. All suggestions are welcome - we just want really good food! |

Outdoor Dining in Montgomery County, PA (Near Ambler) Ambler Girl - West Ave Grille Two just opened in the Dresher Shopping Center (where Carambola's used to be). Same menu, and a lot closer to Ambler! |

From Philly.com: http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/th... It's too bad - we always liked the food there, although the service never measured up to our first visit right after it opened. On a brighter note, the food at Zake's, right next door, remains reliably good, and the service is always friendly and knowledgeable. |

Philadelphia restaurant dishes that you dream about Ginger peach sorbet at Buddakan. Possibly the finest taste ever. |
