new really good quick mexican close to west chester....
called red sombrero, in the big new shopping center on 202 as you go towards delaware. they have all the regular stuff, tacos, burritos, chimichangas. a whole mess of daily soups and nachos and such. all the sodas and nectars are there, along with the usual american fare. a small kids menu. served on trays you bring to your table and take to trash cans, so less formal, but really good. check it out.

Taqueria Moroleon is the place to go for mexican food anywhere in the philadelphia area. we have an old joke that the less english the waiters speak, the more authentic it is, and it proves true here. the ambiance is a little corny if you ask me, but they go the extra mile, with great music and decoration. the usual chips are brought to the table when you get there, but they are hot (is that odd or amazing or am i just dumb?) and come with some great salsas. the guacamole is GREAT but you have to ask for it. They have the usual nectars and mexican sodas, it is BYOB. I usually get the fajitas, they have just about every combo you could imagine (I LOVE THE CHICKEN AND SHRIMP). they are really good with little kids, with the usual fries and chicken fingers, or small tacos and such. they were very nice to my bosses son when we went and he is a little bit wild. i also have had chimichangas and quesaldias, both were very awsome. my dad loves to get the soups and my mom get vegetarian because she is kosher and is never upset with what she gets. i cant even tell you if they have dessert because by that time i am SOOOO full. if you think teca and senoras in west chester are even OK, this will blow your mind. Suposedly they cater also, but i dont know. ONE LOVE
Sam
P.S.: I have been there probably 20 times and in all times of the year and week, and i have never waited for a table.

if you want really good mexican food for cheap and dont mind driving a little ways (kennett), go to taqueria moroleon (spelling is no where near right). the place is the real deal and not very expensive at all. all homemade stuff and everything. a realy great place.
Food at Sheetz and Wawa...yay or nay?
wawa is my other home. i love that place. three meals a day some days. a normal day starts with a ham egg and cheese bagel and a frapacino, lunch is an italian with sweet peppers and pickles, dinner is one of the hot bowls, usually hot beef. and the sides are good. also, i drink the tea by the half gallon bottle. the best new drink is definately the sweet tea, and for 99 cents, it cant be beat. plus i get my nicotine fix there to.
never seen a sheetz. but it doesnt sound bad.

Trader Joe's - Whats the big deal?
i live in a place where i cant get fresh fish without paying an arm and a leg, so i get a lot of their frozen fish and it always is great. well packaged and not slimy or glossy, just a good cut of fish once thawed right.
one love

Let the bashing begin...Buca Di Beppo was Good yesterday
i am thinking about taking a date there. any big warnings or should i go for it?
Your choice for Trader Joe's BEST item
i love the coffee i can get there. i get 3 pounds for a dollar more than i pay for a pound at DD, and it tastes so much better. i am working my way through a bay blend tub right now and it is delicious. also a big fan of the frozen fish and the vegetables when they are in season are great.
Kooma (West Chester): a resounding "eh"
i worked next door to kooma (pita pit) for a full summer. although the food is under impressive, the sushi is great. taste is wonderful, well prepared, however i will agree that the shoddy rolling leaves something to be desired. utagi on 202 going into delaware is a great alterenative and worth the treck, especially for true sushi fans. try the super sweet ultra white (a special i believe) and i also ate my first eel roll here. they make it very crispy and tasty, and serve it at a great temp, as a roll or a handroll.
if you cant get out of town, kooma is the way to go, but utagi is a great alternative, and cheaper to.

getting ready for Lent- I've stocked up on lentils...what are your favourite recipes?
iam a big fan of a stew with lentils. just about any good beef stew with lentils will peek my interest. also, lentils with carrots and kasha and, simmer in a little chicken stock is a great meal for a veg. my mom used to make it.
i went to wilderness and ate plain lentils for 65 days, so i never want to see one again.
