Has anyone been to "Mission Cheese"? [San Francisco]

Mission Cheese is great! They bring in artisan American cheese from across the US, so there's quite a selection and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They have great wine and beer pairings, too. My only complaint is that the cheese portions are pretty small for the price, but since my money is going to such a great place and supporting small cheese producers, I don't think it's a huge issue.

Thanks, everyone, for the recommendations. I'll check them out. It doesn't need to be a full meal of foie or in massive amounts, my goal is just one dish with foie gras per day....super healthy...

Hi,

I'm a Californian traveling to DC in late March. Because of the ban on foie gras in CA, I'm hoping to eat as much as possible when I'm there. Can people recommend good foie dishes/restaurants in the DC area?

Thanks!

AQ or Rich Table. Also safe to walk to AQ at night? [San Francisco]

It's absolutely fine to walk alone if you use your common sense. Nobody's going to mess with you if you don't start anything with them. I was just there the other night (yes, female walking alone) and parked my car on 6th st. and it was fine.

Cheese production facility visits in France

I'm visiting France in May and want to visit a production facility/farm where the following cheeses are made:

St. Marcellin
Langres
Banon
Epoisses

If you have information about visiting any of the production facilities for these cheeses, please let me know. My web searches have been fruitless and, while I'm aware I can purchase very fresh cheeses at the local markets, I really want to see them being made.

Thanks!
