Hidden Gems in the Bronx
I just had a wonderful early lunch at a new place in Riverdale/Kingsbridge called Sqweez Bar on W.238th next to Fenwicks. As the name implies, there is a large selection of juices, (fruit, vegetable and wheat grass) as well as homemade muffins, salads, filled pitas, kababs, etc. It is small place for informal eating. You order at the counter. My daughter and I shared a large berry juice which was enough for two, a banana muffin and chicken shawirma pitas. Everything was fresh and tasty, the spices just right. The young couple who own and run the place are kind and helpful. The prices are so reasonable that I am not sure I can match them in my apartment. It am thrilled to have this kind of place in the neighborhood.

Looking in Woodlawn
I enjoy walking around Woodlawn. It is like Ireland before the Euro. Where and what is good to eat there?
Terrific Hand Pulled Noodles in Sunset Park
Thank you for the tip. There is also a very good noodle shop on 50th and 8th, across f5th from the Chinese-American Association. Excellent noodle soups with roasted meats. For take out the soup is about $4. They have a larger more expensive menu, but you can just order the soup from the takeout and sit inside. It is just a little one room place but very pleasant.
Riverdale Restaurants
I live in Riverdale and after a long work day I often find myself eating Mexican food at the Sante Fe located between Burger King and Jack's on Broadway. The food is good, the prices low, the owners kind and the waitresses find a place with enough light if I wish to read.
