After dinner drinks on a Sunday near Au Pied de Cochon?
Hello,
I'm going to be visiting Montreal for two nights,(Sunday May 17, and Monday May 18.) I managed to get a reservation at PDC for dinner, but need some suggestions on where to go for drinks afterward.
Is there anywhere near PDC that has a D.J., live music, or a decent playlist on a Sunday? I'm not looking for a club, just somewhere with a good crowd and atmosphere.
I'm also looking for great lunch/snack spots in the same area.
Oh, and any tips on what to order at PDC would be very much appreciated!
Thanks!
The Hoof Cafe
I can't believe that no one has posted this yet! The Black Hoof owners will be taking over the Chelsea Room space, and opening the Hoof Cafe.
They plan on doing retail, cocktails, and yes, brunch! I can't wait to have the suckling pig benny.

Pls Recommend: One-of-a-kind "eating out" experience?
That's odd. I booked the Kitchen Table at CL for two people last fall.
Crosstown Kitchens $50 Prix fixe
Some of the menus for the event are posted on the dine.to website. I'm going to check out Alices tomorrow.
January and February Prix Fixe alternatives to Winterlicious?
Crush Wine Bar is offering a $35, 3 course dinner menu.
Restaurant Openings, 2009 (Toronto)
"Union," on Ossington is set to open in the next few weeks. The website for Toronto Life has a blog written by the chef/owner,(Teo Paul) called "Opening Soon", that is following the progress.

Origin is Claudio Aprille's new resto. I'm not sure if the menu will be molecular, like Colborne Lane, or if he is going in a new direction with this new venture.
Need recs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Cleveland, FAST!!
Thank you all for the recs! Unfortunately, I had allready left by the time some of your responses were posted.
I arrived in Cleveland around 4pm, just in time for happy hour:)
Had a few apps and cocktails at Fat Fish Blue, witch were good, but not spectacular,(very friendly staff though.)
Dinner was at Lolita Bistro. Had charcuterie and roasted shrimp apps, and for mains we had scallops and the Tuesday pig roast. We ordered the polenta and roasted potatoes for sides, and finished with a chocolate pot de creme dessert.
Everything was fabulous! Service was warm and well informed, and my only criticism was with a slightly too salty pork lomo.
Skipped breakfast on Wednesday, and saved our appetites for lunch at the Great Lakes Brewery. We both had their wonderfully juicy burgers,(something Toronto can't seem to get right.)
We then headed to the West Side Market. What a great place! We have a similar market in Toronto, but visiting a market like this in a different city is allways a treat.
Wednesday dinner was at Mortons Steakhouse, with great steaks,(as usual.)
Everyone in Cleveland was so friendly! You really have a fantastic city, and I hope to try some of your recs next time I visit.
Thanks again!
ISO Wine/Cheese/Charcuterie in one
Black Hoof has daily wine flights. Just check the blackboard. They also make a mean cocktail!
Need recs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Cleveland, FAST!!
I'm going to be in Cleveland from tomorrow afternoon until Thursday morning, and need recs on where to dine.
I'm coming from Toronto, and enjoy just about every type of cuisine, but I'm looking for places unique to Cleveland.
I will be staying downtown on Superior Ave., and am willing to travel,(but not too far as I have no car.)
Recs for lunch spots would be especially appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
Brunch: CFood
Cfood is no more. The owners from Dizzy Gastro Sports Pub,(on Roncy) are opening a new resto in it's place.
Looking for sesame covered seared tuna....
Sidecar on College West had a pretty good sesame seared tuna a few months ago.
Black Hoof Charcuterie
I was also there on Monday. In fact, I've been there 3 times in the past week, (I'm worried I may develop gout!) :)
So far, I've had the small and large charcuterie, the duck confit sandwich, the pork merguez sausage dish, the lemon tart, and the cheese plate,(all great imo.)
Jen,(one of the owners) has also come up with quite an interesting cocktail list.
This is my new favorite place to stop in for late night eats!
Drinks at Colborne Lane?Need some recs, fast!
Thanks Rabbit. I was planning on pairing wine with my meal, but starting off with a cocktail. So no molecular cocktails at the bar? That's disapointing.
I'm still super excited though!
I'll report back as soon as I can.
Drinks at Colborne Lane?Need some recs, fast!
I'm heading to Colborne Lane tonight, (for the kitchen table tasting!), and need suggestions for drink/wine pairings. Has anyone been recently? I'm particularly interested in any unique cocktails CL might have to offer.
Thanks in advance:)
Mildred Pierce @ Nuit Blanche?
Just a heads up for fans of Mildred Pierce. The website for Nuit Blanche has MP's new location on Hanna Ave. listed under "Food and Beverage." Hopefully we will be getting a preview,(and taste) of her new resto!

Weekend Brunch for 8-10, in west end?
I think The Drake takes reservations for brunch.
Chipotle Opens! (Downtown Toronto)
I'm not sure if it's open yet, but there is a new place at 109 McCaul St., called "Mission Burrito."
It may be just the fix you and your SO have been craving,
If you do try them, report back and let us know how they are,
Pizzeria Libretto anyone know when its doors open at 221 ossington?
I got a peek inside the other day, and had the chance to speak briefly with the manager. They are aiming to open around the 26th,(Aug).
Pizzeria Libretto anyone know when its doors open at 221 ossington?
Do you have a website for Pizzeria Libretto?
Gelato
Just stay away from the Pistachio gelato at Ed's. I bought a pint last week without sampling first, and it was one of the most artificial tasting Pistachio's I've ever tasted. At Ed's, it's much safer to stick to the icecream flavours.
Dinner Wednesday night; Tomi Kro or Gio's?
I picked those two restos because they were close to the Beach Cinema at Coxwell and Queen Street. Where would you go in that area Moimoi?
Dinner Wednesday night; Tomi Kro or Gio's?
Thank you all for the recomendations. Unfortunately, the movie we wanted to see after dinner was sold out at the Beach theatre, so we ended up eating near the Scotia Bank Theatre, at the Niagara Street Cafe,(full review later.)
Hopefully, we will get to try Tomi Kro or Gio's sometime soon!
