Food Expiration

I think people throw away food on the "sell by" date - which is not the day the food goes bad. and expiration dates are crazy - soda never used to go bad.
I think households are smaller and recipes are still geared toward 4 to 6 people (and those 4 to 6 people still eat more than my 4 to 6 people)
We try to freeze leftovers after a couple days and take them for lunches.
Sometimes things get lost in the back of the fridge - especially because we have a small fridge and lots of condiments because we like to cook lots of cuisines.
When foods are in season (I am in Phila, PA so late spring thru early fall there is lots of good fresh produce, not so much the other times of the year)I get excited and buy too much. Menu planning helps.

Pizza Sauce versus Pasta Sauce

I think pizza sauce has a smoother/thinner consistency and tends to be sweeter. perhaps more oregano but that may just be on the pizza, I am not sure I ever noticed the oregano in prepared sauce not on pizza.

Baked/Roast Chicken - and then?

Let me just add mixing chicken in at the last minute to a pasta with alfredo or pesto sauce, or including it in a baked ziti for a faux chicken parm casserole.

Le Cheri is Charlotte and Pierre from Bilbou, they are lovely hosts. I hope they can accommodate you (and it would be so appropriate given the name!)

Brainstorm with me :)

I was thinking in the same direction as the recipe grampart posted - brown the chops (salt, pepper, sage? thyme? maybe lightly floured to help thicken the sauce in the end), add potatoes and braise with the liquid(s) of your choice (stock, water some cream), add mushroom near end of cooking time so they don't become total mush (no pun intended). should be great!

Regional Egg Roll Styles

My experience with egg rolls compares to the "NY" egg roll described here. However we do also have cheesesteak eggrolls!

Best place for apples?

Apples are notoriously difficult to grow organically. Most are IPM.

how about Bistrot La Minette on 6th near Bainbridge. Nice french bistro food, liquor license, not cheap but not fine dining prices either.
