I'll have to try the pineapple - the lemon makes a lovely summer cocktail!

Jenkintown/Abington/Glenside/Willow Grove
+1 for Moonstruck. We have gone there for a number of years with my family in various groupings and the food is good and the space is not loud (except when my entire family rented a private space - but that's away from the regular dining areas : )
Clam Pizza in Philadelphia?
+1 for Slice's clam pizza - never had it in New Haven though!
All-Clad Outlet in PA?
American metals, American craftspeople and manufactured right here (well, Southwest) PA
Seafood Chowder
Ippolito's in South Philly has a different soup on their menu and most days it is some version of a NE style chowder. The Chowspouse swears by their NE Clam Chowder (Ippolito's is a seafood store with prepared foods but only 4 stools to "eat in")
Need recommendation on chef's table / private room in Philly
Osteria has a private dining space for a minimum of 8 people. www.osteriaphilly.com
Been to Italy, now I need to cook like that at home!!
I would second Marcella and add "Rustic Italian Food" by Marc Vetri. He owns several restaurants in Philadelphia and cooks at his flagship, Vetri. This is his second book and really does a nice job explaining the hows and whys of some basic techniques as well as providing great recipes. He has worked and traveled extensively in Italy, mostly around Bergamo
Drink before dinner at Vetri?
Let them work their magic - do the wine pairing and if there is something on the menu that you have never had before and are afraid you won't like, try it anyway!
Please critique my itinerary
I really like Square Burger - The burgers are small - they are on a regular sized hamburger roll but I like that! The meat is good and they are "dressed" well for their size. Also, while I don't do sweets, their cake shakes made with tastykakes get lots of raves.
Where to buy razor clams
Ippolito's at 13th and dickenson has them occassionally, you can call and orer too 24 hrs notice. Also Otolith often has them frozen
Fantastic unique venue for dinner party for 100?
Have you considered renting one of the Boathouses on Boathouse row? I know the vesper club rents theirs and the space is very nice. I think you bring your own caterer.
How many people buy supermarket chicken and meat?

Where is your favorite place to buy Babka?
Marian's Bakery - 2615 E Allegheny Ave, Phila. Cheese and raisin only!
Lehigh valley deli?
Try Saylor's in Hellertown - they have wonderful sausages (they are also at the Saucon Valley farmers market)
philly with kids
Beau Monde, a creperie at 6th and bainbridge is open all day Sat/Sun and would take a reservation and be able to handle a group of 12. Sun bruch offers non-crepe items and I think it is served until 3.
Need help please
If it is nice perhaps snag an outside table at Vallani? Lots of fruit based drinks, I am sure they could do mocktails for your daughter. 13th and Spruce
What's the best sandwich at Tony Luke's?
I'll have to try that - my vegetarian go to there (when I am not in a meat mood) is just the greens, sharp provolone and long hots sandwich. roast Pork without the pork!
Jenkintown area, Best of the Best?
According to Google Maps you are about 3.5 miles from Oak Lane road, and Under the Oak. Very small but very nice food.
What's "wit" the "wiz" -- Cheeseteaks for a prodigal Philadelphian
no, most of the neighborhood places still use american or deli provolone.
CHEAP EATS IN HORSHAM/WILLOW GROVE
How about Sam's http://www.samsitalianmarket.net/index.php ? Their tomato pie is incredible, haven't had much else but I have seen good reviews of the rest of their menu
Spice Terminal closed
I will miss the Spice Terminal for sure. Jonathan's has most of the same products but I hate to buy the packaging when I buy spices and vanilla beans. I miss the bulk rice and beans too.
best burger in philly
The no added nonsense burger is, IMHO, the Square Burger. That said, I love the sketch burgers and while I have had many of them (beef, turkey, vegan) I have never had the kobe. Don't fuss so much - gotta offer people what they want - sometimes that's kobe, but check out the rest!
Where to buy oysters in Philly
Go to Ippolito's at 13th and Dickenson. They usually have six variaties of oysters daily. If there is a particular type of oyster you'd like to try - call them 24 hrs in advance and they will most likely be able to get it for you (They are the retail arm of a wholesaler)
Recs for Dinner in Philly Thu/Fri/Sat
where will you be staying and how close do you want to stay to where you are? Any food preferences?
